Welcome to 'The Old End' in the peaceful village of Sheldon, three miles from Bakewell, Derbyshire in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park.

'The Old End' is a two bedroom character cottage and is believed to be the oldest standing building in Sheldon - a building resembling the current footprint is shown on the Senior Map of 1617 and it is thought that the window on the gable end predates this. It has many original features, sympathetically restored but with modern amenities including under-floor heating, log burning stove and a downstairs toilet. Walks into the countryside from your doorstep and with a pub just up the road serving delicious food - who could ask for more?

This was a perfect place to relax after 4 long walking days. Good kitchen facilities and a lovely quiet garden in which to chill. Good pub grub just along the road. The only comment would be that the low entrance to double bedroom really is...More
