Holiday Rental House
Lapwing House is a large restored stone house with 4 bedrooms and is set in the quiet village of Lairoux, only a 15 minute drive to the lovely sandy beaches of the Vendée, where you will find plenty to do - either relaxing in the sun, building sand castles or surfing in the waves. This is a great location for a family get together - the house is large enough for a 3 generation family or 2 families holidaying together, but still to have their own space. There are lots of tourist attractions to keep you all occupied - such as the Aquarium at La Rochelle, the Indian Adventure Park or the fantastic Puy du Fou Theme Park. In the large garden there is a 5.5m x 4.5m above ground pool. Wi-Fi Internet connection is available in the house. You enter the house via the large living room, which has a TV with UK free-to-air TV channels and DVD player. There is a large separate dining area that opens towards the fitted kitchen and to the rear of the house, and overlooking the garden, is a large conservatory - used as a games room with table tennis, air hockey, toys, books and board games for all ages. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor (one twin bedroom and a double on a mezzainine floor). These are next to the family bathroom and separate toilet. A further 2 bedrooms are on the first floor (One double bedroom - with extra single bed - leading through to a second twin bedroom) A shower and second toilet are on this floor. A cot, highchair and stairgate are provided for younger children.More

About the neighbourhood
Lairoux is a quiet village on a hill overlooking the flat plains of the surrounding countryside. There is a bar with a restaurant only 100 metres away and this is a good starting point for rambling through the country lanes. Luçon is only 10 minutes away and makes a nice day out with a visit to the 600 year old cathedral or a saunter around the Jardin Dumaine. There are also many shops and a weekly market here. In the summer months the town comes alive with music festivals - classical, French and modern, along with firework displays and exhibitions. The surrounding countryside is great to explore and there are many guided walks around the area - stopping off in many of the picturesque little villages for a coffee or beer - many having weekly markets and brocante or antiques fairs at the ...
