About the neighbourhood
This quiet village is near to river walks along the banks of the Tweed.& the river Whiteadder. where moderately priced fishing is available -ask for information. The cottage is only 50 metres from a great food serving pub which welcomes dogs. Paxton House has beautiful gardens & a restored water wheel, as well as the furnished rooms in the stately home. In nearby Duns the newly created visitor centre will celebrate the life & triumphs of world racing driver, and local farmer, Jim Clark. Manderston House is fascinating to visit too. The coast is only a few miles away so enjoy the sandy beaches of Coldingham, the birds at St Abbs Head or the Smugglers House in Eyemouth. Take time to eat great fish & chips & ice cream.
