Where do we start... historic, contemporary, cool, inviting, warm - you're almost walking into a magazine shoot!! This barn has everything. Located in a quiet corner of Oxfordshire and on the edge of a classic country village,The Linhay is one of a kind.
History suggests the old barn (there are two barns) originally dates back to Tudor times. Built and perched, literally, on a number of staddlestones it stands tall and proud in the grounds of the owner's beautiful cottage; it's filled with classic character, so much that you have to admire at how barns were built all those years ago.
Today, the owner, who is a creative and passionate tour de force, has used all her experience to bring the barns to life with beautiful furniture and now is simply an exceptional choice, ideal for families or couples looking for a break in an at...

This design detail in this spacious cottage is really spectacular. We felt wonderfully relaxed and welcomed from the moment we stepped into the gated grounds. If, like me, you can’t stand the almost ubiquitous twee Cotswold vibe or the equally tedious faded slightly mouldy grandeur,...More

A lovely and well equipped wooden cottage with a very cozy atmosphere. It is a perfect base for visiting destinations like Bath, Oxford, Hidcote Manor Garden, Blenheim Palace, or Bletchley Park. The owner cares a lot about giving her guests a good time while her...More

This place is cool! Myself and 5 friends stayed at the Linhay for a long weekend retreat. It's stylish but rustic; cosy but spacious; and has that countryside feel with a hint of urban chic. The owner and her daughter are extremely helpful with recommendations...More

About the neighbourhood
Linhay sits on the edge of Little Coxwell village which itself is in true, rolling English countryside - a village that is down a small lane and very quiet indeed! It is located in an area called the The Vale of the White Horse (in the western Oxfordshire region) between an The Ridgeway to the south, and The Thames to the north. The spot is well known for the chalk horse that can be seen on the Ridgeway from long distances yet remains a relatively undiscovered and picturesque part of rural Oxfordshire.
There is a pub in the village, about 5 mins walk from The Linhay, it is called The Eagle, very much a local pub which also serves good food.

There is a second pub about 20 mins walk away in the village of Fernham, called The Woodman.
