About the neighbourhood
Calbourne has at its heart a village green, where cricketers play matches, and a 13th Century church with origins dating back to 826 AD. The village also has a working water mill, grinding flour for sale locally and on the mainland. A tempting selection of bread and cakes baked from the flour are available in the shop and café. The 17th Century Calbourne Mill is surrounded by ten acres of countryside also containing a rural museum, a boating pond and a crazy golf putting green. Another great family attraction is Chessell Pottery, where visitors can watch the crafts people at work and then try their hand in the pottery decorating studio.
