The Coastguard Station is a unique historic listed building of the 19th century situated opposite the fishing pier at the entrance to Moville Town, with it's harbour and it's small fleet of fishing boats and moored boats offshore. The house enjoys panoramic views over Lough Foyle and looks across to Benevinagh Mountain and the Derry and Antrim coastline. The Coastguard Station housed the coastguards of yesteryear and their families and provides an insight into life in the area over a 100 years ago. The house has recently been fully modernised to facilitate modern living, while at the same time retaining some of it's old features, such as the old cast iron fireplaces in the three bedrooms,: The Master bedroom has a double cast iron and brass bed and provides lovely sea views from the bed. Lovely to wake up to daily, The double bedroom has a 4' bed ( large single/ small double) and the twin bedroom with two single beds. The sitting room also has lovely sea and pier views and has a new log stove and solid oak over mantel. Also included in the property is a new fully modern kitchen and bathroom to complete the building. A short stroll (500m) takes you into Moville town centre, with shops, pubs that provide food and music, wonderful resturants, bank, post office, hairdressers, grocers and access to the shore / beach, water sports and the fantastic shore walk that takes you directly along the waterfront from Moville to Greencastle and onto Shrove. During the Summer season a ferry is available from Greencastle across to the North of Ireland making the 'Giants Causeway very accessible for touring. More
