Thanks very much Kerry, I'm glad to hear you had a relaxing stay. It's always amazed me how quiet and peaceful the site is even during the height of summer. Hope to see you all chilling on the deck again one day x

Fantastic!
Situated in the Snowdonia National Park this hidden treasure very quickly became a home from home. Was lovely to wake every morning to the mountain views which changed colour depending on the time of day. The cabin had just about everything you would need including binnoculars, head torches and even a book guide to the nightime sky. The beds especially the pillows were really comfortable. Only 20 mins drive from Porthmadogg ( handy to stock up on food). Also 20 mins drive from Portmerion which is well worth a visit. Rachel the owner couldn't have been more helpful and it is definitely top of our list of best holidays ever!

Jane, I'm so glad you all enjoyed your holiday. We've tried to pack as much into the cabin as we can - and thank you SO MUCH for adding to our stock of board games, that's really kind of you and something that future guests will appreciate too. Next time you visit you'll have to borrow my telescope so you can take your stargazing up a level!

Family 50th celebratory stay.
What a glorious weekend we have just had. Cabin was lovely, fully equipped with every detail thought about & supplied. Amazing views, idilic setting & kids loved the onsite Park which had an obstacle course & plenty of space to kick a ball about. Rachel was on hand if needed & very informative before our visit with excellent communication at each stage of booking & arrival. Lovely note found on arrival & essentials provided in fridge for first cuppa with a view as unpacking. Cabin ideally located for a range of adventures or visits. I would absolutely recommend this Cabin & we as a family hope to return again soon.

You are all very welcome. I'm delighted to hear that you had fun, and that the birthday boy enjoyed his celebration. As a mum of three myself I know how important that first brew is after a long journey! Thanks for your kind words, and look forward to seeing you all again soon :)

Beautiful
Simply beautiful. We were kept fully informed about any Covid information. Our booking was kindly moved due to restrictions at the beginning of July. We arrived to a boiled kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits. Cabin is roomy and well thought out with a bright and cheerful interior. The area and views are superb. Dark skies area at night was breath taking. A perfect location for touring the area. I’m sure we will be back!!! Our place of choice for Wales!!

What a view.
We were met at the cabin by Rachael, the owner, who talked us through the Covid 19 safety procedures still in place at the time of our visit. The cabin itself is lovely, small enough to feel cosy and big enough spread out a little. The internal exposed timber walls give the cabin a distinctly Scandinavian feel and it feels natural and warm. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need and there was plenty of crockery for our family of 5. We didn't cook much as the weather was typically hot and sunny for our entire stay, as one would expect in Snowdonia. The lounge area has digital TV, a small heater and a selection of games and books available. The bedrooms are cosy, one with a double bed, one with bunks and the sofa folds out into another double, the blinds are fantastic, keeping the rooms dark and cool in the mornings. The bedding was spotless and the beds were comfy with good pillows. Outside the front of the cabin is a decked area with table and chairs but the best thing by far is the view, sit with a coffee in the morning and gaze across the valley at the hills and mountains beyond, simply wonderful. The area has a decent 4g signal and I could stream you tube videos at night on the iPad. The site is visited by a mobile Chippy and a burger van, we didn't have a burger but the fish and chips were very good, they even had mushy peas! The cabin is ideally located for exploring the mountains of Snowdonia as well as the coastal towns of Criccieth, Harlech, Barmouth etc with beautiful beaches, good walks, and a great selection of places to eat and drink. I would highly recommend The Gatehouse Steakhouse in Dolgellau ( excuse the spelling if it's wrong) this is a town we are going to explore further as it looks to have even more to offer. The site is very dog friendly with a good, clean walking area and waste bins are provided. So, would I recommend the cabin to anyone else? Well, as much as I'd like to keep it to myself of course I would. It suited us perfectly, we love the area and the people and we will be going back at the first opportunity.

Snowdonia Cabin
Fantastic place to stay if you visiting Snowdonia. Cabin is placed right in the middle of National Park. There is a small shop in the holiday village. Owner is very helpful. If you're going to Snowdonia this is the place to stay.

A fantastic week here
We stayed here from 20th of April 2019 and booked for a week,on arrival we was met by the owner Rachel who gave us all a warm welcome after driving down from derbyshire, the kettle was on for us and a treats available for our children and our family dog.Once Rachel had introduced us to the cabin she then left us to it and expressed if we need anything to just call her, there was personell information packs left for us regarding the logde and also local amenities which we thought was a fantastic touch and a head start to plan the beginning of our week. The lodge it self was perfect and had everything we as a family of 5 plus our dog would ever need, from cooking utensils to even a selection of books and games to choose from and even spare doggie essential cupboard ,The location of the lodge is excellent base for exploring snowdonia and it's many walks, cycle paths and many other activities. There is even a enclosed dog walking area where they can be let off if you wish. For saying it was the Easter holidays it the site was peaceful and quite and we felt so relaxed in the environment and not to forget the views from the decking which there's nothing better waking up in the morning and viewing a spectacular mountain scenary. To sum it all up this lodge is a gem and the effort put in by the owners to make our holiday as good as enjoyable as possible is truly admirable.Thankyou very much and we will deffinatly return here again in the future.

STUNNING!!
I'm a bit late leaving this review however it seems a shame not to share with you guys how much we loved our stay in this cabin! The cabin was in a beautiful setting and whilst we were there we wanted for nothing. Everything was provided for us including towels, toiletries, food, games.. the list is endless! We were even greeted with a welcome pack on arrival which included Welsh cakes and Easter eggs for my children!!plenty of activities to do in the local area if you are into walking and cycling. The local pub was just up the road, I'd say about an 8 minute walk. The owners of the cabin were such lovely people and always answered my email queries straight away!We are going to book again for April this year which is what prompted me to leave this message ! You will not regret staying here, it's absolutely beautiful 😁😁

Thank you Kate, it's lovely to hear from you again and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. You may not have heard that the pub is closed at the moment after a fire but we've a few other local recommendations - and we've still got plenty of Easter eggs and Welshcakes in the village! Look forward to seeing you again soon :)

Perfect!
Arrived home last night after our 1 week stay at this cabin and its safe to say we will be returning! Absolutely loved it. When we arrived there was coffee and tea and even a little bottle of milk in the fridge waiting to be used, as well as a nice packet of biscuits so we could sit down and relax! The cabin had everything we needed, from towels, bedding, water bottles, extra blankets, lots of little touches really made this holiday relaxing. The owner had even gone out of her way to leave our cats some treats and some toy balls to play with which they loved! Just bring yourselves and food and you'll be set for a great stay. The views from the cabin are beautiful and Rachel is only ever a text or call away if you have any questions. All fun things are close by, we enjoyed climbing mountains the most but plenty of activities to suit everyone just a short drive away. We will back next year with the cats again!

About the neighbourhood
Trawsfynydd Holiday Village is a quiet, friendly holiday park nestled in the hills between Dolgellau and Porthmadog. The traditional Norwegian log cabins are all privately owned, and each one is uniquely furnished and equipped. With no street lighting, and therefore no light pollution, it's a perfect place for a spot of stargazing. And you won't just be seeing stars - the site is teeming with wildlife, and you can expect to see rabbits and squirrels right on your doorstep as well as a host of birds on our feeders and the occasional deer.

How to get there
Driving time from Manchester, Liverpool, Shrewsbury and the Midlands is between 2 and 3 hours. We will send you detailed driving directions when you book - for satnav users the Holiday Village postcode is LL41 4YB. The nearest mainline train stations are Blaenau Ffestiniog and Barmouth. It's then possible to get to the holiday village by bus, although this might take a bit of planning as there are only a few buses each day.
