Awesome Place to stay - cannot describe how amazing is was!
I have just returned from a 1-night stay and it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I didn't want to leave the cabin! We arrived at the cabin with the help of rachel's assistance all throughout & she took utmost care in guide the route and warm welcome. The lobby is very glamorous. Check in was friendly. The room was absolutely massive with 4 beds, plasma television, high ceilings and gorgeous decor. It was an absolute luxury. Beds and linen were heavenly comfortable and the amenities in the room were great. love to stay again but with a discounted price :P

Hi, it's lovely to have another 5* review. I'm a teeny weeny bit confused by this one, as with the best will in the world the cabin can't be described as absolutely massive. And we don't have a glamorous lobby. Or a plasma TV. Or check-in staff, friendly or otherwise. I've asked the guest who stayed to verify this review, but had no response yet - it may be either error or irony? But I'm responding honestly as I wouldn't want to mislead future guests - have a look at the photos on our listing to see the cabin for yourselves. Small but perfectly formed, that's us :)

First impressions
Arrived today and would normally wait until I leave to put up a review but the first impressions are the important ones! Arrived just as the cleaners were leaving. The place was immaculate. Music playing when we arrived with a lovely personalised welcome pack including the local weather forecast for our stay. Tea, coffee, milk and there were even treats and a ball for each of the dogs we had with us. A set of binoculars ready for the meteor shower at the weekend. The attention to detail is incredible. It is so quiet, you cannot help but relax. The view from the decking is to die for and when you mix that with a G&T ........ We have been here for a matter of hours and we are already looking to see what dates are free for later in the year. Rachel and Richard ....your slice of heaven is exactly that.

Beautiful setting
This is a lovely cabin in a beautiful setting. The holiday village is quiet and peaceful and the cabin is well presented. The owners have thought of everything from welcome treats for the dog with dog towels and blankets to games to play on the deck and towels and bedding supplied and a welcome pack for us. There is so much to do in the area that 3 days were not enough. Well placed for bounce below and Surf Snowdonia and a walk up Snowdon. Didn’t get a chance to do everything that we wanted so will need to go back and will certainly return. Thank you Rachel and Richard.

Thank you for such a lovely review, I'm so glad you enjoyed your holiday. And I'm delighted that the dog did too! When you're travelling with a family and a pet it's stressful enough without having to pack the kitchen sink, so we've tried to pack as many little extras in as we can. Look forward to welcoming you all again next time :)

Peaceful Family Getaway in a beautiful location
The cabin is wonderfully presented and is in a lovely area with stunning views It made a nice change to stay in the cabin and was great for my family, especially as it gave us somewhere to relax and enjoy if it rained. Which was a lot better than being cramped in a hotel room. A nice pub and restaurant is within walking distance and within a couple of kilometers is a visitors center for the area which has some well signposted walks and cycle paths. The cabin was very well laid out and it was a nice surprise to have fresh towels, milk coffee and tea waiting for us on arrival :)

Hi there. I'm so glad you all enjoyed your stay. Since having my own children I've really appreciated how it can be like a military campaign getting everyone away for a break! Anything that makes life easier for parents is OK by me. Hope to see you again, and thanks for your very kind words.

Lovely place to stay
We found the location of this cabin perfect. We walked a few of the mountains and also visited some local attractions. It was brilliant to be able to bring our dog with us and the cabin had everything we needed for our holiday, It has a lovely cosy feel to it and the children loved their bunk beds. We will definitely return to this cabin as we have lots left to explore in the area and it was an ideal place for us to stay. The views from the cabin are also amazing.

Fabulous log cabin for our family!
We stayed over a wet January weekend, but had the perfect relaxing mini break. Had our four daughters and our large dog and all bunked up fine in the cabin! Had a fab time at Coed y Brenin, as well as lots of walking and brew stops. Definitely hope to visit again, in slightly warmer, dryer conditions! Highly recommended.

Quiet & Cozy Home Away from Home!
Cabin is absolutely gorgeous and knitted out with everything you could ever need! Rachel (the owner) is lovely, and very accommodating- even to the point of ensuring the kettle is boiled in time for your arrival! We’ve stayed many times over the last few years and will of course be retuning soon! I would definitely recommend booking out for a cozy retreat, or an adventurous walking or mountain biking trip (there’s a fantastic mountain biking course around 5 minutes down the road).

Idyllic hideway!
We enjoyed an incredible weekend at this cabin. It was immaculately clean and very well equipped. It was also lovely and warm with a great shower and comfy beds to boot. It's in a fab location, with lots to see and do within a short drive. Closer to home, there's a great (dog friendly) pub within walking distance where we enjoyed a warm welcome together with an afternoon of 6 Nations action. Best of all is the welcome and hospitality from the owner. Nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back.

About the neighbourhood
Trawsfynydd Holiday Village is a quiet, friendly holiday park nestled in the hills between Dolgellau and Porthmadog. The traditional Norwegian log cabins are all privately owned, and each one is uniquely furnished and equipped. With no street lighting, and therefore no light pollution, it's a perfect place for a spot of stargazing. And you won't just be seeing stars - the site is teeming with wildlife, and you can expect to see rabbits and squirrels right on your doorstep as well as a host of birds on our feeders and the occasional deer.

How to get there
Driving time from Manchester, Liverpool, Shrewsbury and the Midlands is between 2 and 3 hours. We will send you detailed driving directions when you book - for satnav users the Holiday Village postcode is LL41 4YB. The nearest mainline train stations are Blaenau Ffestiniog and Barmouth. It's then possible to get to the holiday village by bus, although this might take a bit of planning as there are only a few buses each day. If you're cycling from one of the stations there are a couple of hill climbs involved - the route from Blaenau Ffestiniog is the shortest and easiest.
