The Grange is ideal as a base for exploring the beautiful island, either by car, cycle, or bus - and not forgetting the extensive public footpath and bridleway system. Ryde's golden sands are three miles away, with the Island's other beaches also easy to reach. Wildlife lovers will especially appreciate the Island's red squirrels, whilst Wootton Creek is also home to herons, egrets and other water birds.
Creek Gardens has a lawned area leading to the fenced creek.More
We welcome a well-behaved dog, and ask that owners are responsible about clearing up after their dog and using the bins provided at the site entrance.
We would also ask that owners did not leave their dog unattended in the apartment as this can be unsettling for the dog and annoying for neighbours if it barks. Dogs should be exercised away from the immediate vicinity and not allowed to relieve themselves on the patios!
Just returned from a very pleasant stay at The Grange. The accommodation was very clean and spacious, and two bathrooms was a treat. My bed was very comfortable and my family reported the same. A short drive and you will find 3 takeaways. Chinese, Indian...More

I'm really glad you enjoyed your holiday. I must say I agree that The Grange is better if you have your own transport, which is why we recommend a car for visitors. Having said that, there are some guests who simply like walking and hiking,...More

The Grange is easily reached from the Wightlink ferry car ferry terminal terminal at Fishbourne and the Red Funnel car ferry terminal at East Cowes. Wootton Bridge has a useful selection of shops, including Tesco Express, and has several pubs, takeaways (fish and chips, Indian, Chinese) and a garage/petrol station. The nearest pub to the The Grange is The Sloop by the actual bridge over the creek, whilst alongside the mill pond is the Lakeside Park Hotel with bar, brasserie and fine dining restaurant. The hotel also has a spa, with swimming pool, hot tub etc, and offers pampering with a choice of treatments including facials, manicures and pedicures.
Within easy reach are a number of tourist attractions such as Queen Victoria's Osborne House, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, Butterfly Worl...
Getting around
Apart from by car, the Isle of Wight has a very extensive footpath network and is thus very suitable for rambling. Cycling is also a good way to see the sights.
Southern Vectis operates an island-wide bus service, and the nearest bus stops are approximately 800 metres away. Individual, daily, weekly and monthly tickets are available and can reduce costs significantly. The Isle of Wight also has an electric train service from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin, and this can be used to interact with the bus services. In addition, Wootton has one of the stations served by the IOW Steam Railway, which also links with the electric train service at Smallbrook Station.
