Holiday Rental House
Nineveh Cottage is an old Mine Captain's residence dating back to the 1800s approached on a narrow 1/2 mile track from Trewellard, any disturbance is only likely to come from the moo of nearby cows, or the song of a swallow! Badgers, rabbits, foxes and bats may be spotted, and there is a lively array of wild flowers. The mine has long disappeared into the history of Cornish tin era, and Nineveh's tiny scattering of buildings now nestles peacefully amidst beautiful countryside just minutes from the rugged Cornish coastline. The house is surrounded by open fields which are criss crossed with accessible paths and offer spectacular walking with panoramic cliff top views of the Atlantic Ocean. As you enter the cottage through the porch you enter into the lounge area which has an inglenook fire...Nineveh Cottage is an old Mine Captain's residence dating back to the 1800s approached on a narrow 1/2 mile track from Trewellard, any disturbance is only likely to come from the moo of nearby cows, or the song of a swallow! About the neighbourhood
Just a short walk down the coastal path from our holiday cottages you will find the Levant Mine and Beam Engine. This dramatic cliff-top setting has been described as ‘the queen of Cornwall’s submarine mines’ and the surviving buildings and ruins offer a window on another world where men and women toiled to extract the riches of the earth from beneath the crashing waves.
