We live half an hour away from the Panorama. However, we will be available to meet you at check-in, no matter what the time is, to show you around and give you a few tips about where you are and what to do. We will give you the ability to get in by yourself so that you can get into the house , warm and comfortable in case we are slightly delayed. We respect our guest's privacy, but make ourselves available via phone, email or text at anytime entirely at your discretion. We enjoy passing on our knowledge and passion for Tasmania, should you wish to avail yourself of this information. As this is a significantly-sized property, we may need to come in to perform some yard maintenance during your stay but will liaise with you about this.

About the neighbourhood
The Coal River Valley is arguably the premier wine and food district in Tasmania. Being just on the outskirts of Hobart allows you great access to everything Hobart City has to offer while allowing you a quick getaway avoiding the traffic coming from out of town to regional delights on this side of Hobart. These include the Tasman Peninsula: home of Port Arthur, and the 3 Capes Walk; the East Coast including Freycinet National Park which includes Coles Bay and Wineglass bay, and closer to home, the ability to drive almost directly to fabulous MONA via scenic and well maintained back roads through gorgeous countryside. You are quite likely to see Wallabies, kangaroos, ducks and native hens in the back paddock and even just across the road.
Getting around
Five minutes' walk takes you to a bus stop where you can catch 5 or 6 buses every week day into the CBD, or the other direction to historic Richmond. However to take full advantage of this superb location, a car is strongly advised. There's parking for up to 8 cars including a large undercover garage with a remote controlled roller door (also operable manually from inside the garage).

However to take full advantage of this superb location, a car is strongly advised. There's parking for up to 8 cars including a large undercover garage with a remote controlled roller door (also operable manually from inside the garage).

We are about 10 minutes from the airport, and on the best scenic route from the East Coast to Hobart so perfect if you are coming down from the northern part of the state or the East coast. Drive 15 minutes to your first set of lights on the edge of the Hobart CBD and another couple of minutes then takes you to Salamanca and historic Battery Point.
