Sadly this retreat didn't live up to our expectations.
The Barn was clean, however they missed a few things which could have made all the difference.
Flyscreens on each window had a hole in them to operate the opening and closing of the window. Of a night time with the light on, bugs fly in making it extremely uncomfortable. My friend was so overwhelmed by the bugs, she closed her bedroom door and slept in the living room.
The airconditioning only cools the air in the living area and not the bedrooms. So if it's hot, you'll want to leave your windows open, so expect bugs.
Having flyspray in the Barn could have helped - we couldn't find any.
There was an old cup of coffee left in the microwave and used margarine containers in the fridge. We were given fresh butter to use, but it would have been nice to have an empty fridge.
The upstairs loft/bedroom isn't really habitable - it was more or less empty.
Elaine the owner of the property was very...
