Reviewed 12 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Aberelwyn Mill is a fantastic place to stay! The house was perfect, with the Welsh countryside on its doorstep. The owners are incredibly helpful and have done their best to make this 5 star accommodation. We will definitely be staying there this summer.

Reviewed 31 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

My family (two adults and four children ages 7-14) stayed in Aberelwyn Mill and will definitely be back. The cottage has been recently renovated and was cosy, welcoming and clean. The open fireplace was a joy and the kitchen a lovely place to gather. There was plenty of space for the six of us and the children loved having the freedom to roam nearby as did we all when walking coastal paths. We have planned a return in the summer as this winter break was perfect. Thank you!

About the neighbourhood

A small town just to the east of the Pembrokeshire count boundary on the River Taf, it lies some 5 miles west of St Clears. It takes its name from its medieval Cistercian abbey which moved to here in about 1155 and the monastery pre-dates Tintern; the magnificent setting of the ruin and the Abbey's layout can still be viewed.

The Hywel Dda Gardens & Interpretive Centre are located in the centre of Whitland. Hywel Dda was born towards the end of the C9th; he made a pilgrimage to Rome in 928 and by 942 ruled over most of the country and claimed the title "King of all Wales". The gardens surrounding the Centre are planted with specimens symbolic of medieval Wales. The designs include artwork such as etched and stained glass, ceramics, iron work an... more
