Please note: The property is not pet friendly, however there will be times when dogs may be in the lodge, so it may not be suitable for those with allergies Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam. Town: Aberfeldy, a market town in rural Perthshire, sits on the River Tay amidst stunning landscape. Aberfeldy is famous for its relationship with Robert Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, as well as the bridge built for General Wade in 1733. It is located close south of Valley Lyon, which is considered as Scotland's longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen. Aside from the breathtaking environment, there is much else to entice visitors. For pedestrians and bikers, there is a 10-mile riverside walk, as well as other trails through woodland and countryside. Aberfeldy is also on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. The River Tay's whitewater rafting is a fantastic way to take in the surroundings. Castle Menzies is a magnificent 16th century castle that has been extensively renovated and is now open to the public. On the outskirts of town, take a distillery tour at Dewar's World of Whisky. Explore the town's various bars, restaurants, and cafes, as well as the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre provides a view into Iron Age life, while Loch Tay provides a variety of watersports. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are also nearby. Within an hour's drive, there are 30 Munros just waiting to be 'bagged'!

An Inspirational Location

Set in a wonderful location overlooking a wildlife-populated lochan some 7 miles from Aberfeldy in a sheltered valley surrounded by some imposing peaks this quite magnificent Lodge provides high-quality and comfortable accommodations supplemented by a well-resourced kitchen. Everything is present to support a restful or adventurous stay. Ensure appropriate walking and clothing equipment is in your luggage. Plenty to see and do, ideally suited to couples and families. Highly Recommended

Just stunning...

What a beautiful place! Ptarmigan lodge is a lovely place to stay, with three spacious, and exceptionally comfortable, en-suites and a well thought-out open plan kitchen, dining living area with the most spectacular view of the pond directly in front and the hills in the background. I could have sat for hours just watching the ducks, geese, swans and deer. But, there was walking to be done, and the lodge is so conveniently located for just that. After a day's clambering about the hills, the lodge was ideal to come home to. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a well-earned dinner. Quiet, stunning, warm, comforting, clean, spacious, well designed...
