Sunrise to sunset, Esmeralda Del Mar (EDM) features breathtaking scenic views of the crystal clear emerald and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Completed in May of 2017, EDM is a Tropical Modern design family home located on the beach, five miles North of San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye and a ¼ mile from the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere. The home was custom designed and built to be a memorable place for family and friends to relax, have fun, catch up and share life's special moments.

Hosted Rehearsal Dinner for 75 at this Beautiful Home
I want to begin this review with a disclosure that I am the daughter-in-law of the owners (which I believe is okay because I am no directly related to them). We stayed at Esmeralda Del Mar in May from the 18th to the 29th. It was absolutely wonderful and we also hosted our Rehearsal Dinner for 75 guests on the private beach front. It was the perfect evening. We had Estelle's cater and a local band play music. The beach was plenty big for all of the tables, chairs, bar, dancing, band, etc. It was amazing! The guests also loved going up to the rooftop deck for the sunset. Benjamin and Addie were a HUGE help the whole week with all of the friends and family rotating in an out of the home for the wedding. We stayed in the downstairs of the main house and everything was perfect. It's the most thoughtfully laid out home I've ever stayed in. Each of the beds face the STUNNING ocean for the perfect sunrise view. The living areas are beautifully and comfortably furnished with massive windows facing the ocean and pool. The decks are HUGE and incredible for indoor/outdoor living. Addie also cooked for us a few nights and she's incredibly talented if your looking for some yummy food. I highly recommend staying at Esmeralda Del Mar for your next trip to Belize.

A relaxing piece of paradise.
This is the 3rd time we stayed at EDM. The home is beautiful and the memories grow each time we visit. We have now stayed in both of the lower level bedrooms and wake to a spectacular sunrise each morning. If you want to sleep past sunrise just keep the beautiful room darkening window treatments closed. Frank and Patty have thought of everything to make our visit fun, memorable and relaxing from massages on the beach to cooking lessons and poolside home cooked meals from Addie to water activities and visits with the local neighbors. The local restaurants are a short walk, boat or golf cart ride away. Make sure you experience the local art and a day at Secret Beach. Thanks Frank, Patty, Ben and Addie for a great time!

Forget about Florida in the winter. EDM on Ambergris Caye is the place to go!
What a beautiful place and gorgeous home to make lasting memories with family and friends. We have been to Belize 5 times and 3 of them at EMD. Frank and Patty along with Caretakers Benjamin and Addie just add to the enjoyment of their gorgeous property. We enjoyed the roof-top sunrises and sunsets along with the private pool. I especially enjoyed the day trips to snorkel at the reef and shark ray alley, secret beach is a must, breakfast at Estelle's and a morning of fishing just made this vacation one more memory.

Fantastic house!
I can't say enough great things about this house. It is very clean and new. I have rented several houses a d this is by far the nicest. Benjamin and Addie are on site and take great care of you. They cooked for us one night and it was delicious. You do have to walk outside to get from 1st floor to the 2nd floor. It was perfect for us, but could be issue of separated from you g kids. You have fantastic views. We kayaked to The reef most days. Recommend renting a golf cart so that you can ride in to town.

Front Row Seat in Paradise
We rented Esmeralda Del Mar with 3 couples. It was a great layout for that, with 3 master suites. However, it could also be a great place for a larger family if you also used the Casita. The home is immaculately kept and was recently constructed. Having a beach is a big plus, as there are few beaches on Ambergris Caye. Having an on-site caretaker was also a great amenity. Benjamin and Adi were gracious hosts and catered to our every whim without being obtrusive. Have Adi cook you dinner a couple nights, you will not regret it.

About the neighbourhood
There are over a half dozen restaurants/bars within a 20 minute walk along the beach from the home and at least a dozen more within a 20 minute golf cart ride along with several larger boutique Belizean resorts which also have restaurants and bars. Several grocery stores (Belizean size) are in the area with two that deliver. If you wish to eat in but not cook, our caretaker’s wife will prepare Belizean meals upon request.

From the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City visitors can take a 15 minute flight or a 90 minute ferry to Ambergris Caye. Our property manager, Reef Management, can provide more information and help you with the arrangements.
