This third floor 3 bedroom/2 bath condo is in a 13 unit beachfront complex just south of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye and has an amazing view over the beach out to the sea from its large covered veranda/balcony.
Let’s start on that large veranda — what a place to sit with your morning coffee or evening cocktail admiring the view of the waves crashing over the Belize Barrier Reef! The veranda is right off of the large living/dining area, which also has a queen sofabed plus futon and lots of comfy seating. Adjacent to that is your fully equipped kitchen with counter seating.

Wonderful location
What a wonderful part of our trip to beautiful Belize and San Pedro! From the moment I booked everyone was so helpful with tips, recommendations and everything about our home we needed to know!
The location was gorgeous. We loved the deck hammock and pool, used to dock to leave for excursions and wish we would have had more time for the other great amenities.
Could not ask for a nicer place or kinder, more helpful people making us feel at home!

Absolutely fantastic!
Very spacious and comfortable condo with everything we needed for a week of fun and relaxation. Great location away from the crowds of downtown. Quick golf cart ride to anything we wanted to do. Jason the concierge gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do.
Everyone was great to work with. Looking forward to going back soon.

A Slice of Paradise
Sunset Beach Resort did not disappoint . These unit are located about 2 miles South of the Town Center of San Pedro. It was tranquility at its best. The views from our balcony, the pool or the dock were absolutely beautiful. The units were well appointed. The pool and Cabana were very nice. Every Unit in the complex and the pool were directly on the beach. The grounds were well manicured. The dock and Cabana were a welcome amenity with several of our excursions picking us up from our own dock. The staff was great, attending to your every need and question. The complex manager, Jason met us at our unit at Check in. Jason is one of those guys that everyone would like to have on staff. A transplant to Belize from the US ( 6 years), he was well versed in the workings of the area. I have several friends planning trips to Belize and I have highly recommended Sunset Beach to them. The 2 mile drive to the city center in your golf cart is not inconvenient. And if you don't want to go into town there are several nice restaurants and bars, also a well stocked store within 3 blocks of our unit.
This pace was truly a great find.

Perfect family Condo!
We could not have asked for a better place to spend our family Christmas vacation. The condos location was perfect, right on the beach, just south of San Pedro so it was close enough for the food and shopping yet quiet and private. We made great use of the pool and outdoor bar/grill area. The 3 bedroom condo was spacious and beautifully furnished. It fit our family of 6 perfectly. We also loved that other family's traveling with us could have their own units right next door. (11 of us total) The staff pre-stocked our refrigerator and pantry before our arrival and we had everything we needed to cook and lay by the pool! The staff was very impressive. The grounds were kept immaculate all day. Staff was available if you needed them to answer questions, give recommendations, booking excursions...I even got a message right on the end of the dock! I was also very impressed with how they handled Covid-19 protocol. I felt as if the rules were enforced in a kind and understanding way that kept everyone as safe as possible. GOLD STAR! I highly recommend.

This was ok....
This place was nice. The pictures describe it accurately. It's on the water but the beach isn't very usable. Also the water on this side of the island it's as nice as the north side. We didn't end up swimming much and it was very shallow with a lot of sea grass.
The condo was very clean, Juan Carlos was wonderful to work with day to day and was great to chat with. They also provided a wonderful list of places to go, eat, shop etc. All of that was wonderful.
The downfalls... the beds were very hard, if you like a VERY firm bed then this will be fine for you. All five of us had a tough time sleeping. The dogs from across the street (very sweet and friendly) would stay on our stairs at night and bark very loudly at night and the wee hours of the morning. None of us could sleep past 5:30am because of this.
We received an email about a week ahead of time saying that there is a chance we could loose power or water during the week because of the "growing pains of the island". We lost power the last day we were there and the condo got very hot with no a/c and the stuff in the fridge had to be thrown out. The second to last day we lost water just in our condo because of a leak. If I had known this ahead of time I would have considered looking some where else.
All and all it was a great place but I don't think we would book this again because of the beach, the beds and the dogs.

Thank you for staying with us. I'm glad you liked the condo overall & the service/ information provided. I'm sorry that Ambergris Caye was perhaps not a good fit, however. Although the island beaches are beautiful, in general those on the Caribbean side are not known for swimming; as we are so close to the Barrier Reef, there is sea grass in the water which feeds the amazing sea life people snorkel & dive to see--some right under our dock! Most prefer swimming off the end of the pier. As a developing country, the infrastructure in Belize is not what many are used to, but that is also part of what makes a visit a fun adventure! We have a 'box' for issues with barking dogs (in a sense part of the local culture) & the batteries have now been changed; thank you for bringing that to our attention. (For any future guests, please let your rental staff know of any issues during your stay so they can be addressed immediately if possible.) Thank you for your comments & taking the time to write a review!

Relaxing no-hassle beach condo
Great condo with all the amenities you could want. Very helpful concierge to book excursions, great local eats & easily accessible in-town restaurants and bars, and plenty of outdoor activities. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful beachfront condo
This condo was on the third floor of the complex with a great view from the patio off the living room. It was clean and fully stocked. We had a group of 6 and all had plenty of space. Both couches in the living room pull out to beds, which was great because the 4 adult kids could each have their own bed.
The staff was fantastic and helped us arrange our day trips and golf cart rental. While you might find cheaper prices if you arrange this on your own it was worth it to have someone else arrange it and be picked up at the shore or the condo for everything we did.
The condo is not in the downtown area so there are not as many shops or restaurants close by but with the day trips out and golf carts it was easy to find everything we needed.
One thing to be mindful of if you have not been to this area of Belize is that there is sea grass in the water right at the shore line which makes swimming not as inviting. However we did see all kinds of wildlife, including stingrays, right off the dock. The complex does have a pool, which while small, was very nice and not crowded at all.

A truly beautiful place!
This was probably the most comfortable and beautifully adorned place we have ever stayed in. The owner has put so much effort into the furnishings, the kitchen equipment, the beds and linens, and the outdoor setting. The man who is in charge of the grounds is fantastic, keeping the area spotless and taking care of the beach each day. It is a nice pool and the dock is really wonderful. We only rented a "golf cart" one day because the driving is rough for anyone with a back problem, but that didn't stop us from activities. There are nice, ridable bikes at the condo and its really easy to stay at the site and have a great time. Barbara, that helped us set up our vacation was also really helpful.

About the neighbourhood
Ambergris Caye, “La Isla Bonita”, is a popular tourist destination. The Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the western hemisphere, is just ~1/2 mile (1km) off shore. The water is warm and crystal clear--ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing. It's also easy to take a day trip from the resort to visit Mayan sites such as Altun Ha and Lamanai; or a trip to observe some of the 500 species of birds found in Belize and/or catch a glimpse of monkeys, manatees and crocodiles in the wild!
San Pedro is a town of about 13,000 residents. Sunset Beach Resort is located 2.5 miles/4 km south of the town core, which means you are away from the crowds yet still within easy reach of everything. Not only will you be able to enjoy a restful day on a quiet beach, you will have a quiet night as well – no bar or restaurant noise, just swaying coconut fronds and the occasional fish jumping in the water!
Town is not far away when you want to go in for some live music, shopping, restaurants, etc. But there are things close by too; here are a few things within walking distance of Sunset Beach:
--Suya Tour operators (1 minute walk)
--Marin’s, a small grocery store (2 minute walk)
--Restaurants: Lone Star Grill & Black Orchid (4 minute walk)
--A beach yard filled with coconut sculptures! (10 minute walk)
Getting around
Most people rent golf carts when visiting Ambergris Caye (it’s not possible to rent a car). Our concierge can arrange your golf cart rental and have it waiting for you at Sunset Beach on your arrival if you wish. Rental costs depend on the cart size and time of year but start at about US$300/week.
As mentioned, there are also complimentary bikes & kayaks available at the resort. It’s about a 10 minute bike ride into town.
It’s also possible to walk to town, either via the beach (40 minutes to an hour, depending on how fast you walk) or via the road (slightly longer).
Cabs are also readily available.

From the mainland, you can take an 18 minute flight (US$160 round trip from BZE) or a 90 minute scheduled water taxi trip (US$50 round trip plus cab fare between BZE & dock) to San Pedro, the only town on the island of Ambergris Caye.
