About the neighbourhood
Algiers is a very quiet city, the neighborhood is very secure, you can walk there at any time of the day or night without any problem. There is the Clausel market which is about fifty meters from the apartment, where you will find vegetables, fruits, fish and meat. At the bottom of the building there is an excellent pastry shop where coffee and other refreshing drinks are served. A bakery a few meters from the building.
Getting around
You can walk in the center of the city without needing a car, go to the old city, (the casbah), and other neighborhoods nearby. However if you want to go to the beaches east or west of the capital, you will need to either hire a car or hire a taxi. The train station is located just behind the building, and the metro can take you directly to the airport from the city center, which is a few meters from the apartment. The old town (the Casbah) is not very far, a metro station further. If you like walking, and walking around the city and discovering its treasures, there is no need to be in a vehicle.
