This rental was great. Huge and comfortable for my family and young boys. Quiet neighborhood and quite convenient to local attractions and markets. The host went over and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable and pleasant. If we needed something from the market,...More

I stayed here with my colleagues twice now and are really happy with Nii's place. Dansoman is a nice and pretty quiet neighbourhood in Accra. Osei, the housekeeper, is really helpful. Especially if you're in Accra for business this is a great place to stay....More

Excellent accommodation: everything as promised, everything clean, everything worked! Wide balconies and reflecting, double-glazed windows kept the glare out, but, with 32° outside, the air-conditioning in the bedrooms was welcome – and effective! The promised Internet connection was fast and reliable – except when one...More

About the neighbourhood
The capital city Accra is one of Africa's most desirable destinations, the friendliness of the citizens is unparalleled making this city a perfect introduction to Africa. There are two main market places, each with a different specialty. The Kaneshie market on the west of the city sells mainly foods and spices and is a fantastic place to sample the local cuisine. On the other hand the central Makola Market is the place to head for souvenirs particularly beads, carvings or batik.

Also worth seeing is the Arts Centre, which is the home of the best craft market in the country and is also packed with street performers and other entertainers. Accra also has several good beaches within easy reach, the most convenient is Coco beach which is only a few miles from the city.Accra is also famou...

How to get there
Airport: Kotoka International Airport: 20.0 km
Ghana is much closer than you think, and the flying time from the UK or Europe is just six hours.

It would be fair to say that flights to Ghana are expensive compared to fights to, say, Gambia, however, this is because Ghana is not a mass tourist destination (a real advantage, we think). In low season - Jan to Jun and September to November, you will be able to get a flight from UK/Europe between £400 and £450. However during peak times, prices can be as high as £650. Having said that, once you get to Ghana, food, accommodation and transport are cheaper than you would get elsewhere and you will find the total cost of the trip is quite competitive.

A number of major airlines fly to Ghana and including:
British Airways (Direct from UK)
Ghana International (Direct from UK)
KLM (Direct from H...
