Farmhouse
This is part of the Pithapuram Palace Estates, which has been transformed into suites, furnished with antique rosewood and teak furniture and, having a brilliant view and flaming sun sets.
Each suite has a charming sitting-room with a fire-place, leading to a bed-room with attractive alcoves with window-seats for relaxing or reading, and a spacious bath-room.
There are front and back verandahs with easy-chairs and hammocks, from where one can enjoy a view of a lotus-starred pond, fringed with tibouchina, cherry and champa trees among others, or of undulating tea-slopes.
There is a sun-deck which commands a panoramic view of the rolling-hills, clothed in shola -trees, and is one of the major magnets of these cottages. One can also watch some flaming sun-sets from here.

Pure bliss
A tranquil abode to unwind and be with nature and away from the cacophony and bustle of city life. The ambience is absolutely delightful with the sounds of a running stream and bird chatter waking you up every morning.
The resort is clean and well maintained with a rustic charm.
There is a town close by where you can go for your food etc. if you want to explore a bit.
The host goes out of his way to ensure your comfort and his man-friday Mani is the absolute scene stealer. He ensures every small request is attended to and makes your stay absolutely perfect.
Can’t wait to get back ....

By far one of the best locations in Coonoor
Atwood Coonoor has a few fantastic advantages - location, scenic views, quiet and serene and very zen like.
Its close to the town and its at the same time away from it and thats magical -as you are away from the stress of noise and pollution. The property is on the edge of a huge tea estate and gives you fantastic views from most sides - that of tea estates or a town below or of hills at a distance.
There is a fantastic caretaker - Mani who can cook some basic, yet tasty fresh food. the property has an awesome viewing deck on top with some hammocks and chairs and a dining area where you laze around and soak in the fantastic views
The rooms are rustic and earthy in nature and are reasonably well appointed.
The drive way to the property is a bit steep, but this i think only adds to the charm. The room could do better with a fan, just to factor in some circulation.
But can take nothing away from the overall experience. The place is fantastic and we will most likely go there again!

Serene and Picturesque
It's hard to believe that a tranquil estate lies right behind the Conoor road, the approach meanders through an erstwhile palace and brings one to the property tucked next to a lotus pond. The rooms are cozy and a fireplace reminds one of the British era. We woke up to birds chirping, took long walks along the estate, clicked pictures of the variety of flowers and breathed in the crisp fresh air of the Nilgiris. We met other couples and families in the evening over bon fire and barbeque and the sound of our laughter echoed through the hills. Atwood is a perfect haven for some inspiration and time with loved ones

ATWOOD. Nice location. Amazing place to relax and fun.
Situated in the Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu, Coonoor is nothing less than a natural paradise. Considerably small but beautiful. Every traveler who visits Ooty, makes sure that Coonoor is included in the itinerary too. Nevertheless, this lesser-known paradise has its own charm and specialties as a hill station which the travelers can relish at these amazing places to visit in Coonoor and at ATWOOD. :)

Best experience ever
If you love peace and quiet and want to stay in luxury...and not be completely cut off from town ...Atwood in Coonoor is the place to be in the Nilgiris...
This is one Resort which is quite exquisite in the way it's been restored, and the property itself is located in a very beautiful part of the district.
We had a wonderful experience with a view to kill for...tea on the sundeck, the fireplace, makes for for a well done holiday!
Eagerly looking forward to make my next break...when I can run up to the hills again...to Coonoor!!

Perfect place for switching off
Nature’s Bed would be an understatement to describe this place. Completely away from the regular routine you can truly live disconnected. The food is brilliant and 5 stars for the hosts. They make you feel at home and leave you live life at your will during the stay. Absolutely a must visit for people who want to be disconnected from the busy schedules and wanting to a have a true break.

The best
We drove up the scenic drive to the most beautiful place ever.
Warm wonderful and an amazing set up.
The hosts took personal care of everything and made us feel like royalty.
The rooms, food, amenities and care were all superlative.
Wish I could go back again soon.

Stunning Locale
Nestled in between tea plantations AtWood is a delight that surpasses all expectations. Well appointed rooms that can accommodate couples and larger families it gives you the opportunity to be one with nature.
With a nicely equipped kitchen and friendly staff rustling up home food this place is the ideal getaway when you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. With enough walking area around you have your exercise also taken care of.
Wildlife often makes it presences felt with bisons visiting during the nights and panther sightings more often than not. A great place for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful place with stunning views
I stayed at Atwood this week with friends and the place is just so beautiful for a relaxed time in Coonoor. A great location nestled within a tea plantation, nice cozy rooms with a fireplace and very helpful staff. The place has a great location with some amazing views...I went berserk with my drone camera. We also had a friendly visit from a Bison :)
I think I was one of the first guests at Atwood just when it was opening up last year. I am really happy how the place has shaped up from my last visit. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Called Rosery, the name is as evocative as it is redolent-of a sprawling 60 acre rose-garden, belonging to the erstwhile Maharaja of Pithapuram, now a sprawling tea-garden.
Though the Palace itself maintains its regal facade, notwithstanding the many sea-changes inside, the grounds and the out-houses offer a more interesting scenario.
One such, Atwood, has been transformed into suites, furnished with antique rosewood and teak furniture and, having a brilliant view and flaming sun sets.
A lot of animals and birds live on this estate - enjoy them and learn to respect their space. If you love nature and quiet, this is a great place. Be accommodative of your neighbours and keep the noise level civil. there are walk and trekking routes
Getting around
This property is in the prime residential area of Coonoor, a small plantation town and is a short walk of from the property takes you to Sim's park and Bedford which has restaurant and small markets for your daily needs...and the post office and hospitals., most places in the town are a few kms away - which is a short trek or you could hail a bus, auto or taxi. if you have your own car you could enjoy the country side drives through the winding roads and brilliant landscapes and estates.
