He has taken care to incorporate elements of local architecture and lifestyle such as open plan and split level features, antique marble ornaments, local Anatolian handicrafts, Italian tiles and stone walls.
I booked this location with my family, 2 adult, 1 baby and 1 child. Location is great close to the center and with a great pool and beautiful garden. Our host James is a true star and i wish all host would be like him. Great tips and great support with all the questions we had. Thanks for having us and thanks for this great holiday.

Well worth coming back.
This was our second stay at the Hidden Garden Villa. We stayed there two years ago and the second visit was every bit as good as the first.I am not sure what I can say that has not been said already. The villa is absolutely charming and it is in a very peacefull neighbourhood. However it is only a 5 minute walk into town. The owner,James is a great guy and a fantastic host.He is a great source of information not only for Turgutreis but for Turkish life in general. We really appreciated his kindness and it is obvious he cares very much that his guests are happy and comfortable.Annie,(Peninsula Villas) was again very helpful and very quick to reply to any queries.Another lovely, peacefull, relaxing holiday.Hope to be back soon!

Truly peaceful villa in perfect location...
Our fourth year at Hidden Garden Villa and once again everything was perfect. James is a great host who is always on hand if you need anything, but is never intrusive. The villa has everything you could need and is so well located for the town, restaurants and beach.James has now installed a new smart TV so we were able to connect to our Netfilx account (on the one night we stayed in during three weeks!).
Booking through Annie at Peninsula Villas is so easy and painless.
We have already booked to return next year....

A hidden gem
The Hidden Garden feels very traditional, but with modern facilities and a great private garden & pool. Whilst we ventured out a fair bit with shops, bars, restaurants and beach close by the villa has everything and we spent quite a few days reading & lounging by the pool as well as watching the antics of the two tortoise Fred & Ginger. James the owner was really helpful making sure we had everything we needed as well as recommending restaurants & where we might visit. All in all a very enjoyable relaxing holiday!

Perfect Paradise
What a place! The photos do not do this justice at all. The villa is pristine and the facilities are superb. The communication with Annie was excellent and James is an incredible host who went above and beyond. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Hidden Garden is superb and Peninsula Villas has provided exceptional service.
Its all been said before, but worth repeating:-
Wow!,
We have taken many villa holidays, however we have never had a stay in a villa that meets our every need like this one.
The design and decor are amazing, reflecting James' style and as soon as you walk in it feels like home, not a dull holiday let. Absolutely everything has been well thought out and provided for. Perfect place to recharge the batteries.
The garden is just beautiful and during our stay it sprung into life as many plants came into flower. The well maintained pool is a great way to cool off, have fun, swim, whatever suits.
The two Tortoises, Fred and Ginger, danced there way round to us every morning and seem to be quite partial to a bit of lettuce, cucumber and watermelon.
And finally a big big thank you to James, he has been a a fantastic host with nothing being too much trouble. We also need to commend Annie at Peninsula Villas, she has responded quickly to all our requests, kept us informed at all stages of the booking and was a great help in organising transfers etc.
I would have no hesitation in booking this specific villa, or in booking through Peninsula Villas again, their service has been exemplary.

Hello Both, firstly we are so pleased you enjoyed Hidden Garden Turgutreis Bodrum, not that we doubted you would at all. And, welcome to the HG Repeat Guest Club! You are not the first to contact us during a stay to book again for another time. Hidden Garden has the highest percentage of repeat guests out of all villas we rent. James works hard at keeping the villa in top shape and, as you say, the garden is a delight (especially Fred and Ginger who happen to amuse most guests)!
Thank you too so much for your kind words about our service, that means a lot to us. We are a small company but offer a big personal service and intend to keep it that way. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2020 but for now, best wishes

It was very relaxing!
This was our first year at hidden garden and it was breathe-taking! The location was amazing-the beaches were very close! This is a great family-friendly villa with a stunning pool. The villa was nourished with whatever we needed and James was only a call away if we needed any help. He was very supportive and obliging! It was like heaven, the area was nice and peaceful. Its also very close to the bus station where you can go to beaches and the centre. Its name defiantly reflects what it truly is. As you relax on the hammock, under the trees full of lemons and limes, you drift into a deep sleep of adventure... Fred and Ginger (the turtles) were also very friendly and nice to play with as we fed them.
Again, thanks James for being very hospitable, hope we come back again in the future! From Youcef and family

Turgutreis, on the Bodrum Peninsula, is named after Admiral Turgut Reis who was born in the village of Karabag which overlooks Turgutreis on the hillside above the town and where there is a statue to the Admiral in the village square. Turgut Reis was also known as 'Dragut' he died of his wounds at the siege of Malta on 23rd June 1563. The town holds a three day festival around June 23rd each year, when Turkish navel warships visit the bay and military bands and entertainers hold concerts in Ataturk Square.
There are large supermarkets and numerous local shops. There is also a new marina opened in 2005 which houses a string of bars and restaurants, cafes and shops. You also have an open air cinema where you can sit back and enjoy a movie while sipping a cocktail or beer etc.
Turgutreis is a quieter option to the more touristy resorts close by such as Bodrum, Bitez and Gumbet. There is a good beach and as it is on the tip of the Bodrum peninsula the water quality is very good due to the currents passing through between the headland and adjacent islands. The Greek islands of Kos, Pserimos and Kalymnos are close by and from June to October the ferry leaves Turgutreis for day visits to Kos (takes 45 mins).
In Turgutreis petty crime is almost nil. The town is safe and even walking around the markets there is a feeling of security. Buildings in Turgutreis are almost exclusively low rise meaning the view to the water is unimpeded from many places in the town.
To the tourist, the town has three main areas:
1: The beach
2: The square beside the mosque and the seaside restaurants.
3: The backstreet and market shopping.
The beach itself is a slim sandy beach not overly long and yet never too crowded even in August. The beaches are operated by the restaurant behind and all sunbeds are free. The standard of service on the beach is superb with all restaurants employing staff to work the beach. Turning up to the beach, you will be greeted by friendly faces keen to find the sunbeds and parasols of your choosing and locate them to the patch of sand you most want to settle on. There is an etiquette here. These beach boys will work hard to make your day pleasant and genuinely do care. The etiquette is that you will buy your drinks from the restaurant serving you - simple manners really. I found that the service was not at all pushy and the drinks, being so reasonably priced were quite pleasant on the beach.
The square in the centre of town is stunning and comes alive at night. On one side are the boats with their captains constantly encouraging custom. The prices of the boat rides really are superb. A whole day out on the water calling in on little islands to swim in the sea and snorkel with fishes costs approx £12.00 for an adult. This price is a full day trip with lunch included.
On the other side of the square is the mosque and the run of restaurants along the front. All these eateries are superb but when visiting it becomes easy to get hooked into one place due to the excellent standard of service.
The back streets and Saturday market are buzzing with places to eat and drink cheaply and bargains to be had. The rule here is always haggle. Do it politely and you will be well received. Most places settle on a price about three quarters of the list price.
Local buses ( Dolmus ) go to most local villages as well as Bodrum and are a cheap way of getting around. Other towns worth a visit by bus are Yalikavak, Gundgoan, Gumusluk, Akyarlar, Karaincir and buses to these run about every 20 mins or so until late at night.
