Absolutely adorable former photo studio that is now a brand new vacation rental! Open, spacious feel with great windows and light. Located in the hippest part of town – SOCO (South Congress) with great access to everything that's best about Austin – shopping, restaurants, bars, and major music events.
The studio is an absolute jewel, with round windows upstairs and a loft. The space super light and airy, with a happy laid-back Austin vibe. Opens onto a covered deck. Entry through a garden walkway. A real pleasure to be in!
Sleeps 2 or 3 comfortably, 5 if you really like each other.
New bathroom and kitchen. Private entrance, gardens, deck with gas grill, round windows, new high efficiency heat and air, backs onto a creek for great privacy, in a sweet central neighborhood. Super cute hip...

Perfect for our needs
The studio was clean and well cared for. A very comfortable and convenient option while we were in town for SXSW. Close to frequent buses heading downtown. Jana was responsive and easy to deal with. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks.

SoCo Studio is The Place !!!
We had a wonderful stay with Jana. She and Barkley(her precious dog) offered a comfortable, clean and amazing stay ! The backyard and deck area were fantastic! The shower was amazing(better than mine at home) and the fluffy towels were great! The studio is close to everything. Thanks Jana for the amazing stay and being such a lovely host !

A Cool Studio in a Hip Neighborhood
My daughter, her friend, and I stayed in Jana's studio for three nights. It's in a quiet residential area but is quite close to the South Congress (SOCO) scene of great restaurants, bars, and trendy shops. Jana is a cordial host who is available when needed but is never obtrusive. The ladder to the loft is kind of fun to use as long as you're up to it physically -- not any more challenging than an average ladder, and with the added safety of a hand rail. If you have a child, it will love the loft, which has a twin bed leading to the bathroom. The studio itself personifies Austin; it's laid back, cool, and casually hip. The kitchen has a small refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and a few other small appliances. With so many restaurant choices in the immediate area, you won't use the kitchen much anyway.

Very charming and perfect for 2-3 guests
I stayed here with 2 of my girlfriends for a weekend getaway late September 2013. The loft is as pictured in a quiet residential neighborhood behind the main house. You walk through the car port area, through a small metal gate to access the garden and loft. Very cute, spacious and for the most part private. It was close enough to the Soco area to be convenient, but not close enough for a long walk in the sweltering heat. Although amy's Ice Cream is close enough for a nice treat within walking distance.
The portable aC unit in the kitchen works really well. If you keep it running, it cools the entire loft nicely and quietly. The kitchen is small and for basic needs. You don't cook a full gourmet meal here.
My only 1 recommendation is if you have small children or traveling with the elderly it may be burdensome to get to the only bathroom upstairs. You can only access the loft and the bathroom by a ladder, not well supported stairs. If you're ok with climbing up and down the ladder each time you need to go to the bathroom, then you're fine.
One suggestion for the owner/manager, on a hot day, turn the a/C on half an hour before check-in to make the arrival of guests more comfortable. Especially guests that are not used to Texas heat.

Great suggestions! The staircase is definitely a loft stair, and when guests have children I always try to make sure they know and are good with that. Thanks for the input, and come back any time! Jana B.
