Conveniently located in the heart of Halibut Cove, just opposite the Isthmus on Ishmalof Island, our cottage will nestle you into the wilderness charm of Alaska's Kachemak Bay. The Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a warm and cozy 590 square foot, two bedroom house furnished with art and antiques, a full kitchen and an indoor bathroom consisting of a shower and Biolet composting toilet. A south facing private deck surrounds two sides of the Cottage and is fully furnished with three patio tables, twelve chairs, two umbrellas and a propane grill. Guests will be met at the ferry when they arrive in Halibut Cove by the owner(s) and transported to the Forget-Me-Not Cottage property by skiff. Their gear will be transported on a tram while they walk up to the Cottage, about a 4 - 5 minute walk, up stairs and boardwalks. Guests are provided with two 3-man Walker Bay row boats for their use inside the Halibut Cove Narrows. The owners live on the property in another house and will be available to answer questions about all things Halibut Cove.

The cottage is charming and comfortable-I especially enjoyed a glass of wine in the hot tub overlooking the beautiful scenery. The grounds, filled with flowers and berry bushes bursting with berries, are a joy to explore. The outhouse on the property is a must see!...More

Forget-Me-Not has it all. Arguably the most beautiful setting in all of Alaska. Wonderful accommodations. Beautiful, scenic location overlooking Halibut Cove in all its' glory. Great seafood restaurant a short rowboat (supplied) away. Mike and Shelli are terrific hosts and will make your stay unforgettable!

About the neighbourhood
Halibut Cove is a small rural community with about 20 year-round residents. The summer population swells to about 200 residents. Access to Halibut Cove is by private boat, the Danny J ferry, the Stormbird mail boat, water taxi or float plane. The community features two art galleries, a restaurant, a cafe and a coffee house. There are hiking trails and the Isthmus to explore. Additional excursions can be scheduled and booked with the local water taxi operator to hike in the nearby Kachemak Bay State Park. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are also available in Halibut Cove.
Getting around
No need for a car in Halibut Cove - we get around in skiffs, kayaks, wherries and row boats. Guests at the Forget-Me-Not Cottage are provided with two 3-man Walker Bay row boats for exploring the Halibut Cove Narrows.

Airport: Homer Airport: 15.0 km
Ferry: Homer Harbor: 11.0 km
Most visitors to Alaska arrive at the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage which is 220 miles from Homer. People can drive to Homer or fly commercially. The Homer Airport is about 6 miles from the Homer Harbor. Taxi cabs are available at the airport. Guests will have made advanced reservations for the Danny J ferry trip across Kachemak Bay to Halibut Cove, about a six mile journey. There are various parking options around the harbor, paid parking is closer to the Danny J ferry, free parking is a short walk away on a pedestrian boardwalk. The ferry docks at the bottom of Ramp 1, adjacent to the Salty Dog Saloon. The crossing takes about 1 hour and includes a tour of Gull Island, a bird sanctuary.
