You're also just a stairway down (or walk the 2 blocks) to Screamin' Banshee Pizza, High Desert Market/Cafe, Contessa's Cantina, Thuy's Vietnamese Eaterie and the famed Iron Man Statue. If you've ever been to Old Bisbee, you already know that to have your own free secure off-street parking space at your door is a rare treat! As soon as you arrive, you'll notice the famous pollution-free climate Bisbee offers from its mile-high elevation in the Mule Mountains. You can practically reach out and touch Mother Nature's monoliths from your Casita. You'll awaken to the cooing of the doves and songs from the many birds that grace the garden...a hummingbird might even alight on your outstretched finger as you step out your door to take in the sunrise coming over the Mules.. Your hosts, Carl and Sandra, will happily steer you in the direction of incredible birding and hiking trails as you explore the beautiful High Sonoran Desert. BISBEE CASITA CHIQUITA was designed to satisfy the discriminating traveler's every need: luxury appliances, designer linens and high-quality bedding, fluffy towels, unlimited hot water from the Casita's on-demand water heater, your own temperature-controlled heat and air, a fully-equipped mini-kitchen stocked with the hosts' own blend of coffee, exotic teas, hot chocolate, chai, creamers and even some basic spices. The bathroom features a custom designed vessel sink, the elegant shower has a deluxe adjustable shower head, and luxury soaps and shampoo are provided. BISBEE CASITA CHIQUITA is tastefully decorated with art from the hosts' extensive private collection. When you return to CASITA CHIQUITA after a delightful day of shopping, birding, hiking or sightseeing, you'll enjoy some down-time in the Casita's lovely gazebo which serves as your living room. It's equipped with privacy curtains and even screens to let the desert breezes pass through to refresh you, romantic twinkling lights and a ceiling fan. IMPORTANT: For news or movie buffs, the Casita has a flat screen TV with upgraded satellite service - please do not plug any devices into the back of the TV or stream from your own devices to the TV as this will mess up the system and require a service call from DISH which is an expensive item we don't want to have to deduct from a guest's damage deposit!). There is a CD player/radio and i-pod docking station. In the evening, you won't be able to resist relaxing in the gazebo to stargaze and catch shooting stars. If you turn on the Casita's exterior 'porch' lights, please turn them off when you retire as we have about a dozen sweet friendly little bats who come in at night to sip water from the fountain or hummingbird feeder and in exchange, they catch mosquitoes for us. They don't like porch lights. NOTICE: Our insurance requires both full names of guests in advance of arrival and does not permit ANY unregistered visitors or guests. Interaction with guestsBefore retiring to Old Bisbee, Sandra created & ran for 26 years her five-star award-winning luxury historic B&B Inn with main inn and a number of historic cottages she restored in the Victorian artist colony of Eureka Springs, AR. Once in Bisbee, she missed the fun of owning an inn and so with her new hubby, Carl (a medievalist/opera-lover) decided to create an elegant place for guests to stay in the new Casita built in the garden of their 1916 manor house. They enjoy playing 'concierge' and are happy to help you find best restaurants, neat shops, galleries to check out local art, and other attractions to explore. If you like to chat, they are available. Here for a romantic getaway? You can self-check-in, grab the key and enjoy Bisbee!

The casita is adorable and has everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. Sandra and Karl obviously care about their guests and are attentive yet not intrusive. We very much enjoyed morning coffee on the patio. We will return soon to continue our explorations Of southern Arizona.

My wife and I stayed in this perfectly delightful Casita for three wonderful days, using it as a base to explore not only Bisbee, AZ but also historic Tombstone, AZ. It is well-furnished with cable TV and an excellent kitchen, if you desire to make your own meals, rather than explore the many outstanding restaurants that are in the area. I guarantee you will be thrilled with the accommodations. We were!

Overlooking Bisbee on a hill the facilities at this property were brand new and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfy, the AC cold, and the shower hot. The “elves” had placed some cookies and treats to welcome us. The hosts were just wonderful and helpful, and we enjoyed meeting them, We cooked our meals there, and the small kitchen was well equipped. We especially appreciated their “green” efforts - e.g. on-demand hot water heater and etc. We like to spread out, and although there were many interesting things to look at inside, perhaps they occupied a bit too much of the flat space. The yard was meticulously manicured, the bird feeders attracted some nice birds, and the gazebo was comfy - it had an in-house fence lizard who did a great job catching bugs. I would have happily paid extra to have that harmless little guy helping out! The hosts were charming and most friendly. We look forward to going there again.

Carl and Sandra's casita is a beautiful, clean, well decorated and comfortable place to stay during a visit to Bisbee. It is very close to downtown, certainly within walking distance, and is such a nice place to stay that we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else if we visit Bisbee again. The room is wonderfully furnished, the bed extremely comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom well supplied with modern, new appliances and needed cooking utensils. The casita even had a satellite TV that allowed us to watch the World Series during our stay. On our arrival we were greeted with little goodies and fruits from some "elves", and Carl and Sandra were available and responsive to all of our needs. In short, we couldn't recommend the Casita more highly.

I stayed at the Casita Chiquita for a week in March 2018. I know you can see the photos, but I want to emphasize that this place is PERFECT for a single or couple stay of any length. It’s quiet, but still just a 5-minute walk down to the main street. The patio is nicely sized (I’m bad at measurements, so ask the owners), sunshine streams down, birds are abundant, and there is even a gazebo with lighting and a fan for evening reading. I loved the studio, which has everything that you need including a closet, refrigerator, dishes, etc.; it’s also new and aesthetically very pleasing. The owners, Sandra and Carl, are wonderful people and terrific “hosts.” They are eager to make your stay exceptional. In fact, I asked for complete privacy for 6 days and they provided it. That is VERY rare. I walked ALL over Bisbee and this is THE PLACE to stay. Have fun!

My husband and I visited Bisbee in January and stayed in this charming casita for several days. Located on the grounds of the owner's home on one of the hillsides above Old Bisbee, this studio guest house was not only clean and lovely with modern kitchen and bath facilities but was also filled with original art from the owner's collection. While within walking distance of the galleries, shops, pubs and restaurants that make up the business district of Old Bisbee, it also provided privacy and seating in the surrounding garden and patio -- perfect for enjoying the warm winter days there. One of the outstanding features of this accommodation is the fact that you can drive practically to the front door and have a private off-street parking spot -- a rare find in the heart of Bisbee. While many areas of this part of Bisbee are accessible only by stairs, you can return from the shops either by foot or stairs -- you pick. And then there are the optional Gourmet Breakfasts that we enjoyed, delivered to our door by the resident "elf"-- fabulous!! The view from the studio of the surrounding mountains is beautiful and the advise we received from the owners was very helpful in planning our excursions and explorations of the area. I highly recommend staying at Casita Chiquita for a very restful and relaxing visit to Bisbee.

About the neighbourhood
The best thing about Bisbee Casita Chiquita is that you can actually drive right to the property and your off-street parking place.(Many Bisbee rentals you have to park downtown and then walk up a lot of staircases just to get to the rental place.)If you like stairs, the hosts can show you the best ones to follow to get downtown and then coming back when you might be a wee bit tired, you can easily walk the few blocks along Tombstone Canyon Road (aka 'Main St.) right to the Casita without using stairs. NOTE: Hosts will share with you 'insider info' about the restaurants and other places to visit, including attractions in and near Old Bisbee if you request this in advance..
Getting around
For guests visiting Old Bisbee for their first visit, the hosts recommend taking one of the Jeep tours around town offered by several companies. Several golf-cart drivers offer free shuttle service back to the Casita (no fee but a minimum tip of $3/person) on weekends, some weekdays and always during special events....you just flag them down and tell them you want 160 Quality Hill Road and tell them we are across from the art cars. Walking is definitely the best way to see the charming downtown. If you wish to explore farther afield out-of-town, a car is needed.
