Holiday Rental House
Taking its name from the mining term to describe a two-man rock drilling team, the Doublejack Guesthouse is perched hillside in the heart of Old Bisbee, an old mining town just southeast of Tucson, Arizona. This guesthouse offers dramatic panoramic views of historic downtown Bisbee and Mexico. Built circa 1895, this fully restored and charming one-bedroom miner's cottage is located along an old mule path turned staircase above street-level public parking – accessible via just enough stairs to feel healthy! It Was A Dark And Stormy Night…
We came in off the road; weary and under the weather. Bob (the host/operator) met us at the top of the fabled seventy five concrete steps that lead from the parking spots below to the guesthouse itself… He offered a hand. I had neglected my partner Lynda many reminders to train for this Olympic feat. Balderdash. I didn’t say it. But I thought it. Those seventy five steps schooled me (fast forward…by the end of our stay I was taking those steps two at a time!) Bob offered a most gracious welcome and orientation. Once over my grumpy mini mood I knew immediately we would love it here. Cozy is the word that we’ll remember the guesthouse by. Perfect for two. Comfortable and creatively decorated. Colourful. Warm. Impeccably clean and amenities easily located and operated. Wonderful old (original) claw foot bathtub. A big deck surrounded by lush foliage and alive with bird song. The birds come and go all day and throughout the evening. The DoubleJack Guesthouse is a five minute walk from Main Street’s funky shops and eating spots. It’s the quiet sanctuary of the space we most loved. And it’s that space we shall look forward to returning to some other dark and stormy night. With appreciation to Bob and Jeff for their generosity ❤️

Double the pleasure...
Every once in awhile I find a place where the owner truly "got it" and did everything they could to let you know in advance what to expect and then worked hard to make your reality even better. So please don't complain if the 72 steps up to the front door are a bit tough (but don't book if you are not capable of hauling your luggage up!) Remember also that you are a mile high--and the air is thin. But the views--oh, just WOW. Hiking the canyons was rugged and worth every drop of sweat. Of course we were lucky, with temperatures in the perfect range. I had been to Bisbee numerous times before on day trips and had never truly picked up the vibe. While here this time I met fellow Washingtonians, some Oregonians, folks from Illinois and New York and even a Frenchman who all moved here. If they would fill one of the open pits with water, I might do the same--but I love my waterfront. What makes thi town a true wonder isn't the mine, the minerals or the spectacular scenery--it is the people--so make sure you say Hi! and start a conversation. And if you decide to move, just ask your host for advice. Bob was there and a font of help. The house is a tiny bit of heaven--and did I mention sunrise and sunset? Hope you love it as much as we did!!!

Bisbee Az.
Hansel & Gretell cottage in Bisbee, such an amazing place. A real find. 75 steps up to door made all the ice cream & cookies calories disappear. Owners Bob & Jeff made us so welcome. Everything wonderful & welcoming.

Worth the climb up the steps. Very private.
Just walking up the steps to the hillside casita, you realize how private the casita really is compared to the homes that you pass getting up to it. Very clean. Comfortable living area. Great bathroom shower! Nice bed. My host even checked in with me via text to see how my weekend was going. Would highly recommend it to anyone who can navigate Bisbee's hills and steps.

Quaint lodging overlooking Bisbee
Doublejack Guesthouse is a great place to stay. A quaint cottage for 2, on the hillside of Bisbee, with a great deck for enjoying morning coffee or evening sunsets. The owners allow you privacy, while also being available for any questions or needs. The cottage has one king bed and a fully furnished kitchen if you chose to cook. The cottage is located in Old Bisbee and within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Be prepared for lots of walking and stair climbing, no matter where you stay!

Sweetest romantic hideaway
Exceeded our expectations for location, comfort and natural beauty. This was our first time staying overnight in Bisbee and I'm so glad we choose the Doublejack Guesthouse because provided the perfect romantic environment for relaxation and rejuvenation. And yes the stair climb up to the top is well worth the effort - a little adventure in itself - and an easy walk down into town for dinning and exploring. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Going back for a second visit!
We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Bob is great and the home is warm and inviting. You add in Bisbee itself and you are going to have a great visit. While it snowed when we visited let me tell you the heater works great. Wonderful view of the city from the porch and so what if there are 90 odd steps to go up. We all need more exercise anyway and the reward at the top of the stairs is worth it. Looking forward to our return visit for the Bisbee Blues Festival this fall.

Mountain Top Get Away
We stayed at the Double Jack Guest House for three nights. There were NO other words to describe the stay but CHARMING! The attention to detail in this place is like no other. You step directly into a picture-perfect magazine, and never have to leave…Not only the house but the grounds, porch and garden! Don’t let the Trip Advisor photos fools you, it is even better than pictured. The view is fantastic, and night sky is dreamy, and in the morning, are the songs of birds (my absolute favorite). This stay really is a getaway all to yourself! My husband and I rarely heard a sole during our entire weekend stay. Such a great place to distress and relax! My husband’s only mentioned draw back was the parking…Parking is on a first come first serve basis (in addition to the 75 steps to the top of the hill) where the guest house sits. All we can say is that “If” parking was assigned and/or closer up the hill (or the stairs were just ONE flight less) this place would be an absolute dream. (The altitude while climbing THESE stairs even got to me - and I am from Show Low! I have NEVER had that happen before.) I was also surprised to learn there was no cable TV. I must have missed that somewhere...but I can tell you I did NOT miss TV one bit. Instead I was "Forced" to relax, Oh No...There is a radio, DVDs, and WiFi - None of which I even needed as I just slowly melted into this place. Instead I spent my time reading, relaxing, sun bathing, taking photos, drawing, playing with our puppy (who loved the place) and always…bird watching. The location of this guest house is very close to old town. Even though we ended up driving to down...because, let’s face it...those stairs were enough for us...it was an easy to drive directly down to parking in town on the same street. And the Hosts…they are incredible! They helped guide us through town in the pitch dark of the night, they had GREAT recommendations for where to go intown, once we were settled in. They have so much information about Bisbee in the cabin to research - so you can just about any adventures that best suits you to fill your days. They made sure the kitchen was stocked just enough to take care of us weary travelers...and our mangy mutt.... They really are good people, the kind you just can’t say enough about!

Great stay in Bisbee
This was our first visit to this area of Arizona and our stay at the Doublejack really made the week their Great! Everything was very nice and there was some very nice extras in the fridge when we arrived. Highly recommend spending a week in this beautiful little hideaway on the side of the hill. A few steps up to the front door, but worthwhile.

Well Worth the Climb!
Climbing those 75 steps shouldn't keep anyone from booking this wonderful guesthouse with everything you need for a great stay! Our hosts furnished breakfast foods and had a kitchen stocked with lots of items for cooking. The view is incredible! We fell in love with charming Bisbee. Walking to town is easy and our dog, Berkeley, loved staying with us. He was basking in the adoration of this very pet friendly town. We are planning to return again for a longer stay since we just scratched the surface. We'd like to return during a different season, maybe spring or early summer. We highly recommend this delightful house. The steps get easier the longer you more times you walk on them. And you'll get in better shape each time you do!
