There are are multiple apartments for rent, the main one is the first building we finished which kind of reminds me of a cave, as the building is build into the side of a mountain (which keeps it cool) with an epic view of the crater lake. We have been implementing permaculture so this is a food forest community with the 'Fungi Academy' and 'Yoga Forest' as neighbor examples. It sits on a few acres of coffee and food forest at the top of barrio 2 above the cemetario. The bathroom is shared with the apartment next door, but we should have a compost toilet to add here shortly. Additional Guests can sleep in a hammock we will provide, if you add them here for a small fee. PRIVACY: If you want the entire Earthship to yourself you will have to rent all the apartments. Let's make a deal, just click your dates, and it will allow me to make you an offer. Community Area: Outdoor Kitchen, and Full Bath with little bath Pool which is connected to gas propane heater. NOTICE: Not suitable for Elderly. This is a rugged, mountain Earthship. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel go to a 5 star hotel. These things rent for $250 a night in Taos. When we arrived at Earth Ship, after an aerobic climb up the mountain, we were initially impressed with both the architecture and the unsurpassed views of the lake and the volcanoes. This impression soon turned to dismay on closer examination. Even though we had booked...More

I will be managing this from the USA. The workers are not experienced hotel people, they are laborers maintaining the land. Whatever you need they can run to town and get for you items.

About the neighbourhood
Barrio does is mainly indigenous Mayans but all our neighbors are expats from Germany, Spain,England, and the US. You could say it is becoming gentrified.
How to get there
In the village people go by foot, tuk tuk ( a three wheeled vehicle), or water taxi. You can come direct by private shuttle, and don't have to come through Pana.
