We booked this property primarily for the pool, however, when we got there (literally as we walked through the door) we were told that it was under repair and there was a huge piece of black plastic over it. Not only was it ugly and a huge disappointment but we have small children so a huge safety issue. We were given a 30% discount and arrangements were made for us to use the pool at the property next door (we had to negotiate this 30%- they were offering 15%). The house is beautiful but needs significant upkeep- the outside cushions and wore out/ripped (as an example). Considering the price, this is also a huge disappointment. The house is also part of a larger complex/mini-neighborhood which can get quite loud. Lastly, there were several instances of people coming onto the property and into the house (including the owner Barry) completely unannounced to take photos or pickup items. I have never rented a property in which that has occurred without prior arrangements. The staff taking care of the house (Nico and Teresa) were wonderful but communication with the property manager (Gabriel) was quite difficult. Flavio- the new property manager- was better however, failed to mention anything about the pool being out of commission until we got to the house (it was being retiled therefore not an unforeseen event). Unfortunately, we were expecting something a bit more upscale and this fell short on several fronts.
