The runners
We stayed here for the weekend due to taking part in a marathon in portumna forest...it took our breath away the most quirky typical old Irish cottage we've ever seen so beautifully maintained we were sorry we didn't have more time to tour about but will definitely be back! Recommend to anyone looking to off grid for a week or a few days just so peaceful and the open fire is so cosy as for Lena she's a real wee gem such a beautiful hostess a wee Irish lady 😊

The real Irish experience
We stayed for 2 months in the Shannon Breeze Cottage. It's perfect for a weekend or a week stay! You're definitely getting a traditional Irish experience. Lena was so accommodating and hospitable. She had chocolates and wine, along with other groceries waiting for us when we got there. She made a full Irish breakfast, which was delicious! We were there in March and April so we got to see newborn lambs that were on the property. We had a lovely time! Thanks Lena!

We stayed here for a week whilst participating in a clay shooting competition. I would sincerely recommend Cummins cottages to anyone!!! A beautiful peaceful place! We were made to feel completely welcome by Lena, who puts a serious amount of effort into the maintenance and upkeep of the farm and cottages! I really wish I could give you more stars Lena!! Thank you for your hospitality! 😊

Rural peaceful location, welcoming and helpful host
As above. Good place for exploring. You need a car. Cottage has character. Space outdoors to sit, eat etc if weather nice. Pretty to look at especially with hanging baskets.

Lovely spot and very welcoming owner
We stayed just one night for a family event in the area, but wish we could have stayed longer. Lena was fantastic - so welcoming and helpful - and provided us with everything we could need. Our toddler loved the little cottage, and the gates on the stairs were a real plus :)

We can sincerely recommend staying in Cummins Cottages!!
In August 2015 we, a family from Munich with two girls (9 and 12) spent 3 weeks in this lovely cottage. Mrs. Cummins was incredibly helpful and kind, and even though the weather wasn't quite as we had anticipated, our stay here near Portumna was a wonderful experience. Our smaller daughter (9) simply loved to feed the chickens and the sheep, and was so excited to eat eggs freshly found! We really enjoyed the fireplace; and the cottage, though small, had just the right size - so cosy!! We made trips all over the country - Ireland ist just like a fairytale place, and Portumna ist a good starting point to head off in all kinds of directions, if you can't make up your mind what to see. It's not that far to Dublin - we visited several times, actually; though Galway is much nearer, of course, and very charming indeed. We have also been to Portumna Castle, Kilkenny Castle, The Rock of Cashel and Cahir Castle, The Burren, The Cliffs of Moher, Connemara, Newgrange, and we made a trip to Northern Ireland as well, which was also very interesting. The only thing to keep in mind while planning trips is - on country roads, always add 1/3 more time to the calculations of Googlemaps or else - you don't really want to drive the assumed speed on those roads...! ;-) We can sincerely recommend staying in Cummins Cottages!!

everything you need for a perfect holiday
The cottage is such a lovely place to stay....small but big enought with every little thing you need.... When we arrived the fireplace was already burning and lena was there to welcome us. A very warm welcome and a bottle of wine wich my friend loved. We loved the cottage it had everything from the books and tips from Ireland to the hairblower up stairs.. a new washingmachine and dryer in the barn. Also the chicken in the garden and the lambs in the fields are great to see. Lena gave info about where to go and was very helpful. She made us a irish breakfast that was delicious. Lena is the perfect hostess and we would love to go back to ireland and stay at Shannon Breeze Traditional Irish Cottage.

WOW!! Can't wait to go back!!!!
Perfect place to stay and Lena was WONDERFUL! The cottage is adorable and super very cozy...Lena was very helpful full of ideas and suggestions of places to visit. Portumna is a nice little town to visit and everyone was friendly there. The cottage is close to many castles and other sites as well. We were already planning a second trip even before leaving the Shannon Breeze. From the adorable cottage to the sheep, hens, fresh eggs, and beautiful sun rises and sun sets...just a wonderful experience!

The perfect introduction to Ireland
I stayed at the Shannon Breeze cottage while travelling around Ireland with 3 german friends who were visiting ireland for the first time. We arrived at the cottage after a long day of travel and were greeted by Lena, a warm fire and a cup of tea. It was simply perfect! The cottage is absolutely beautiful and in such an idyllic setting. It's really well situated so that it's easy to make day trips to sonme of the most beautiful places in Ireland. We loved our stay here, the cottage is wonderful and Lena is just so welcoming and friendly. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

A great home base to explore Ireland from!!
This was our very first trip to Ireland, and couldn't have enjoyed it more!! I had researched reviews, response time and prices for several months before finally booking with Lena and I am so glad we did. She responded very quickly to all of my questions and and had very helpful suggestions. The cottage was perfect! It was so nice to come home and sit by the fire enjoying the peace and quiet! The cottage was perfectly laid out and so nicely decorated. It is also located very close to 2 large markets, restaurants and shopping. Lena is so helpful in offering ideas and suggestions on where to visit and even gave us several maps. The cottage is exactly has it appears in the pictures, only cuter. Our trip would not have been as wonderful if it hadn't been for Lena and her adorable cottage!! It was such an honor and privilege to get to know her!!
