Just back from a fantastic hen weekend in this amazing accommodation - 20 hens and lots of room for everyone, including bathrooms and hot water! And for the amazing entertainment room !! Definitely was the centre for our weekend ! Kitchen fully equipped and towels provided - no wifi but lots to do without it! Easy walking distance to Carlingford. House needs work
Was disappointed when we got here...house is in a great location but house itself needs a bit of work...the walls in the bar room where filthy! And it was quite dark and dingy...walls in some of the bedrooms where very grubby too...washing machine didn't work and we didn't have hot water the whole time we where there, even after boosting the heat. There is no WiFi either, couldn't find a box or code in the welcome pack.

Perfect Hen Party House
This is a perfect house for a hen party! Our group of 20 stayed last weekend and had everything we needed! Lots of bathrooms, fresh towels, a large commercial sized fridge, pool table and picnic benches in the garden with plenty of seats for a large group!
The house is a 5 minute walk into the centre of town so no need for transport which was a bonus!
Will definitely be back!

Can’t wait to go back!!
Stayed here with my family for 2 nights. We all had the best time ever. The house was perfect! It had bedrooms for all of us and so many bathrooms! The kitchen was fully stocked and the house was spotless with fresh clean towels also provided!
Honestly couldn’t fault the place at all. We have already booked to go back again this year!
The house is in a quiet area but only 3 mins walk from the town. The owners were also so lovely and answered all our questions and were so accommodating!
Book this place. You will not be disappointed!! 10/10

Fab House !
Stayed here for St Patrick's weekend. Family of 12. The house is beautiful and spotless clean.
Each bedroom was as nice as the next one. The views from the house of the lough and area were amazing. With a 5 minute walk into town.
The best part of the house for us was the room with the pool table and bar.
A great room for entertaining. Could not fault this place and Clare the host was always on hand to answer our questions.
I would 💯% recommend Castle view house and
will return.

Absolutely Filthy
This is such a pity as the house was in a wonderful location and had so much potential. The house was FILTHY. Seems like it hadn't been cleaned in years and is in serious need of an update. The showers were so dirty I refused to have one as I'd have been dirtier than when I entered. I have attached a few pictures of the showers but in all honesty it shows them as being cleaner than they were. When I flushed the toilet in our room, the water came up the sink. Someone did have a shower and the water didn't drain and flooded the bathroom and there were no facilities to clean anything up. The white sofa was very dirty, the sofas in the hall were worn away, the room where you had to put the heating on smelled like it was about to blow up, the cooking facilities were also very dirty and the back door wouldn't lock. The place was very big and would be great for a large party but it was simply filthy. I wouldn't go back without knowledge that it had been updated and thoroughly cleaned. 🤢

leaves a lot to be desired
the location of this guesthouse was perfect. 3 minute walk from the main street and the views of the lough were breath taking. that being said i was less than impressed with the state of the property. feet stuck to the floor from the moment we stepped inside. everything needed more than a 'good clean'. the plumbing was awful in the downstairs rooms with sewage coming into the showers. the showers were a different story altogether. the shower trays were black and the dirt than ran down the walls were disgusting. you would be better washing in a ditch outside. it is really quite sad that the owners have let the place almost go to ruin as there is great potential. i laughed at the cheek of them asking for a £200 deposit incase of damages when i left the property in a cleaner state than we arrived. the rating is purely based on the location

Hi Kerri. As yourself and your friend have posted your reviews on numerous platforms and already told me you had a lovely weekend at our house I’m completely confused over your comments when my other reviews are so different.

Castle view house
We stayed at Castleveiw house 7th of August weekend as a family reunion ... there was 17 of us age 18 to 36 and we had an absolute ball.. the bedrooms where nicely decorated and the views when u wake in the morning are amazing! its a large house but we tried to keep the bar room with french doors that opened up out to the garden where they are picnic tables and tables and chairs we had the sun from 6am to 9PM.. In the bar room there is a pool table and a triple coca cola fridge! That held all drinks.. We have a reunion every year and use hotels.. we will be booking this house next year! 10 minute walk to the village where we had dinner but with the coronavirus bars arnt the same we headed back to the house and had so many laughs 🤪this house is great. Claire the owner was very helpful and kept great communication thank you see u again soon 😃
