Beautifully appointed apartment, stylish and comfortable.
Loved the apartment, everything (almost) we could have wanted was there and all very thoughtfully decorated and laid out. Loads of details, with regard to the kitchen and bathroom facilities, and the perfect temperature. We had an excellent stay, found the surroundings attractive and the situation extremely convenient. It would have been perfect (for us) if there had been a radio (we couldn't track down radio stations on the TV), but we would thoroughly recommend the Old Piggery and would love to come back when we had more time.

Good accommodation but one or two things to be aware of.
Very convenient for visiting Bury St Edmunds and Ickworth. However, be aware that the allocated parking is for others as well. We came back one evening to find two other cars in the parking area and found it difficult to leave our car so they would not be blocked - not ideal. We also found that there were noisy yappy dogs in the adjacent property. Though generally comfortable our stay would have been improved by some small details: proper bread board and a hand towel in the kitchen; occasional tables in the seating area; towel rail in the bathroom (also the shaver socket didn't appear to work). However the place is clean and warm and the bedding IS a joy (though the bed is very firm). All in all adequate but not deserving of 5 stars.

Quiet, immaculate and comfortable
A short stroll away from the entrance and trails of Ickworth Park, the accommodation is well equipped and very comfortable. Although near a main road, it is very quiet, only birdsong will disturb you.The owner, Caroline, was very helpful on arrival, and left us alone to enjoy our welcome break. Highly recommended.

Very comfortable and cosy cottage.
This beautiful little cottage is in the perfect location to explore the towns, countryside and beaches of Suffolk. It is situated within easy walking distance of Ickworth House and it's beautiful grounds with great walks and cycle paths. There are also two lovely pubs/restaurants nearby. The cottage was exactly as described in the details, and provided us with a lovely, comfortable base for our week long holiday.

Wedding weekend
We were invited to the evening reception of a wedding at Hengrave hall. Since we were driving from Bedfordshire we decided to make a weekend of it. The old piggery ticked all the boxes. Close to venue and a really lovely place. It was very well equipped, modern comfortable interior and exceptionally clean. The owners were around on our arrival and were very welcoming. The wine and biscuits went down a treat. We arrived on what was probably the hottest day this year . With temperatures reaching 37 the fan came in very useful! We managed to sample the local pubs too. The beehive in particular offered a decent menu and good food.Would definitely recommend as a place to stay.... fairly rural but close enough to bury st Edmunds. Thank you

High Standards at The Piggery
We had 4 nights at the piggery and it is a really beautiful little place with very high quality everything inside from a beautiful bath to a beautiful kitchen. It is 5 minutes walk into Ickworth grounds where we took a couple of evening walks during our stay. We had a 6 and 8 year old with us and they slept on the pull down bed, Caroline kindly provided so 4 of us were comfortable. I would say this place is perfect for anyone, apart from the elderly with mobility issues or anyone with toddlers who are likely to fall- there are a couple of steps inside that could be tricky for those groups of people but I can't imagine anyoneelse could find fault with this lovely rental. Avoid arriving in the dark as the parking is down one lane and the piggery down another lane. Beautiful setting and if we ever need to stay in Horringer again, we would not hesitate to re book this lovely spot.

About the neighbourhood
The Old Piggery is located in one of the prettiest villages in Suffolk. Famous for being an Estate Village, which was once owned by the Hervey family who lived in Ickworth House, which is now owned by the National Trust. The village is just 2 miles from the Historic Market Town of Bury St Edmunds. Horringer is home to Ickworth House, home of the historic and eccentric Hervey (pronounced Harvey) family. Set in 1,500 acres of grounds, which seem to go on forever, the house is a giant rotunda full of famous paintings and has been under the care of the National Trust since 1956. The family are also associated with Harvey's Bristol Cream sherry, and it was the 4th Earl of Bristol who created Ickworth in 1795. Latter-day celebrities in the family include model and socialite Lady Victoria Hervey. It was once said, 'When God created the human race, he made men, women and Herveys'. As well as works by the likes of Gainsborough (a local lad), Titian and Velasquez, the house boasts Georgian silver and Regency furniture. If you want to walk the grounds as well, Ickworth becomes a day-long Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk is a unique and dazzling historic gem. An important market town with a richly fascinating heritage, the striking combination of medieval architecture, elegant Georgian squares and glorious Cathedral and Abbey gardens provide a distinctive visual charm. With prestigious shopping, an award-winning market, plus variety of attractions and places to stay, Bury St Edmunds is under two hours from London and very convenient for Cambridge.
