Wonderful weekend escape
On a recent trip to the UK my daughter booked Teal Cottage for a weekend escape for us. It was delightful cottage and much bigger than it looked from the street, it also had a very warm, welcoming feel to it, we all thoroughly enjoyed out stay there and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Teal House
We had a lovely week at Teal House, it was comfortable, clean, with all the facilities we needed. It felt like home for home. The location was ideal for the town centre, the beach and local bars and restaurants which were all very pleasant. The garden was perfect for a late afternoon G&T and a real sun trap!

Perfect holiday house near the sea
We had another wonderful holiday at Teal House, and will definitely visit again, the location is perfect, close to shops and the sea front. The house is welcoming and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need, the dishwasher and washing machine make a real difference too. This is a great area for fossil hunting and we were lucky to have wonderful weather all week and found lots on the beach. We paid for a car pass for the car park which is just up the road and you can load and unload outside the house. This is a great area with loads of things to do for adults and children, my grandchildren love it there.

Best budget accommodation
One of the best budget accommodation with clean beds and at easy accessible location. Portblair is costly in terms of accommodation so this is one of the best option one can opt for. On top of that Samudrika museum is just opposite to the hotel so you can plan visit without any hassle or additional travel.

Third stay at Teal house
We had a lovely family break at teal house, it was just perfect for the 8 of us and the dog, As it was our third stay we settled in straight away, it really felt like home from home, We all slept well in the comfortable beds and all had hot showers. Mark was very helpful and offered us the parking permits at a cheaper rate then the car park fees. Teal house is placed in a perfect position, in a quiet cobbled street just 5 minutes from the sea, shops and bars. We were lucky to have a sunny weekend. We will definitely be returning as we all came back home feeling very refreshed.

An enjoyable stay, amazing location
We booked Teal house for a family weekend away for my 40th birthday. Everything was straightforward, just as it could be. We paid for a permit for a car park just a few minutes walk away. The house was very well equipped and very comfortable. Our children had a lovely time exploring all the rooms We had a lovely visit and are looking forward to staying in Teal house again in the future

Map
About the neighbourhood
Easily accessible, and only three hours from London and the Midlands, Lyme Regis is away from it all, nestling in the unspoilt West Dorset countryside. Part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site, and surrounded by areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lyme Regis, the “Pearl of Dorset”, is famous for its fossils, its historic old town, its Cobb and its beaches. And now it's a destination for food lovers, with Hix Oyster and Fish House in the town, and River Cottage HQ and Axminster Canteen both close by. The old town, dating back to the 14th century, is an ideal place to walk and explore the local shops, art galleries, newly replanted gardens with myriad places to stop to eat and drink. Built around the River Lym, Lyme has its own working Water Mill, recently refurbished to include an electricity generator. Lyme Regis is very special in that it is probably the smallest town in the country to boast its own cinema, theatre, and museum. The Cobb attracts visitors – not just for its visual splendour and its magnificent naval architecture, but also for its connections with great literature. Indeed, people come from all over the world to see the steps where Louisa Musgrove fell in Jane Austen’s Persuasion; or to see where Meryl Streep stood, looking forlornly out to sea, in the film adaptation of John Fowles’ The French Lieutenant’s Woman. Art lovers are drawn to Lyme for both its beautiful scenery and for its wide range of art galleries. Holiday makers will enjoy a family-friendly, sandy beach and an often-surprising micro-climate in the shelter of Lyme Bay. Marine Parade is a great place to walk, sit, enjoy the views and visit its small shops and eating places. Here the seafront facilities will soon benefit from restoration of the Marine Parade Shelters, ready for summer 2011. The town and surrounding area have many attractions and host a range of family-centred events, including a Jazz Festival, a Fossil Festival, Life Boat Week and a Regatta & Carnival Week. For visitors who have had enough of the hurly-burly, and need to escape, there are many delightful places to stay to suit all budgets. You will be able to enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside and there are many opportunities to go out on a boat to view the glorious coastline from the sea or to fish in the clear waters of Lyme Bay.
