Stone cottage
We had a lovely stay in this cottage which was well kept and clean with extra precautions in place for covid. It is well located to access places like Fort William, Oban and Ben Nevies and us across the road from Loch Leven. It's only drawback is that it is on the A82 and lorries use the route day and night but after one night we didn't notice them anymore

Charming cottage loaded with amenities and phenomenal views
This cottage was magnificent, and it made Glencoe feel like home. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and linens, newly refurbished kitchen, and charming living space with a great fireplace. It was a perfect base for local activities right across from the Marina and a short walk to loads of hiking trails. I hiked in the trails around Glencoe Lochan almost every day, and also made it up the Pap of Glencoe and out to the filming location for Hagrid’s hut just outside of town while I was there. Coming back to soak in the big tub after a long day of hiking in the mountains was fantastic. There is also a great stash of DVDs, CDs, and books for days I felt like staying in. The high-speed internet was also solid and very reliable. I also appreciated having a washer and dryer. The location was perfect at the end of a little road by a waterfall, so it felt secluded enough, but it was only a short walk into Glencoe and Ballachulish for supplies and activities. The bus to Ft. Williams and Kinlochleven picks up just down the street as well. It was easy to get to and get around without having my own transportation. The views are absolutely stunning. There were rainbows nearly every day the first week I was there. Sitting in the back garden on the hill was also a lovely spot to take in the sunsets each night. The locals were amazing as well-so warm and welcoming. Sue was an excellent hostess-very responsive and resourceful. I had a wonderful time at the Stone Cottage, and I’m looking forward to returning one day in the future.

Great Spot
This is a wonderful cottage, with everything you need including a huge bathtub for soaking after a long hike. 4 adults stayed here for 1 week and we were comfortable. Beds are comfortable, plenty of dishes, a washer and dryer, a pub in walking distance( with music) in either direction as well as a great spot for breakfast or lunch. Great hikes within walking distance along with spectacular views. My only complaint is that the main road is right in front of the cottage. Outside the front door is the old road, then grass, then the highway and then the loch ( which is a spectacular view). We adjusted to the road noise and it was a small price to pay for a perfect week.

Gorgeous views and warm cottage
The cottage was very easy to find and has stunning views of the Loch and surrounding landscape. Parking at the rear can be tight especially when turning car around to get back out. The kitchen & bathroom cleanliness was not good, it appears whoever cleans only does to waist height also the settee in the living room is well beyond its use by date. Other than that the cottage is warm and welcoming with very comfortable beds and good size bedrooms. Local facilities are pretty good and the array of things to do locally are superb. Overall we had a lovely stay at the cottage and a wonderful time too!

Great location for visiting the area
Lovely views across Loch Leven, with a nice location adjacent to the footpath to Ballachulish or to Glencoe. Property is spacious, with one BR up and another down. Kitchen is large enough and sufficiently equipped to do basic cooking, and we appreciated the convenience of the washer/dryer. One thing to note: the rental is completely carpeted, except for the kitchen, and it does have heavy draperies (good for keeping out drafts). While it was very clean & fresh smelling, I know that fabrics/carpet are big allergy triggers for some. Property was warm despite chilly weather, but we did keep the doors between rooms closed to keep in the heat. Best feature? You can park onsite & then walk to nearby Ballachulish for basic supplies (a Co-op food store), to the excellent Laroch restaurant or the very good Quarrier’s Kitchen for fish & chips...or in the opposite direction for coffee at Crafts n Things or into Glencoe village for other options. Take the drive up to Kinlochleven to see the Gray Mare’s Tail waterfall, then drive down to the Lochleven Seafood Cafe for a great seafood lunch. A previous reader commented on difficulty using the wood-burner: I also struggled. I laid a fire twice, and couldn’t ever get it to keep burning, despite opening the flue and dampers. So I dunno if there’s a trick, or if the firewood was too green, but some basic instructions would indeed be helpful. Still, for the 10 minutes we had a fire, it was nice to watch the rain fall on the loch while warm & cozy. I contacted the owner via email about a minor issue (couldn’t figure out the power shower) and received a prompt response as well as an offer to send someone out to assist.

Hi, thanks for your comments, which I think will be very helpful for future guests. We have sourced our logs for this season from a different supplier which seem to be easier to burn - so hopefully future guests won't have this problem. Hope you enjoyed your stay, and hopefully you will return again in the future.

Mr
Excellent views over the loch. Good location for exploring the area. A very comfortable cottage with good amenities close by. A very enjoyable stay and would stay again. On the downside, could do with some instruction for the wood burner, for those of us who had not used one before and the front door could do with a new weather seal. That said everything else was spot on.

Thank you for your review. I will get some instructions written, and put in the information folder. - I do hope you managed to get it working though! We have budgeted for getting new windows in the cottage and a new front door over the winter, ready for next summer.
