Met all our expectations and more
The Red House is beautifully located and provides an Hebridean experience that will stay with us. The layout of the cottage is great and the upstairs bedroom and living area is a great place to chill. Tracey and Alisdair were both very helpful.

Lovely comfortable cottage in peaceful location
Red House offers everything you could want in a holiday cottage. It has lots of thoughtful touches such as picnic basket , games and telescope which make for a lovely break. It is well located beside East Loch Tarbert, offering a quiet scenic retreat but within easy reach of local amenities when wanted.

A perfect week!
Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, with amazing views. It's very close to the charming town of Tarbert but also a place to be away from everything. Tracey and Alasdair are friendly and helpful. A great base from which to explore the beautiful Isle of Harris and a wonderful place to come back to at the end of a long walk!

Eem 200% aanrader!

Beyond imagining...
The Red House is what you’ve always dreamt of finding; not only is the house pleasing in every way, but its location is gorgeous. First the house itself. The owners spent 4 years rehabbing a traditional Scottish “Black” house. The result is an interior design magazine quality house with a fireplace, a sleeping loft, sky lights, an excellently stocked kitchen, and even William Morris wall paper. Its location is a beautiful peninsula that’s fun to explore. Other than the owners’ house a ways beyond and below the Red House, there is no other building out there. We loved the quiet beauty. Rent this place early. I think the calendar fills up fast. We feel so fortunate to have spent a week there.

Just perfect....
I am so glad i chose the Red House for our first visit to Harris - it was absolutely perfect. The cottage is so cosy and welcoming, and it just brims with personal touches - Tracy's paintings and cushions, Alastair's lovely staircase, and what can I say about the Grandfather clock !! (took me hours to figure out is not "real". Close enough to Tarbert, but far enough away to be completely quiet. The wildlife was wonderful - seals, geese, eagles, otters/ And so near to the stunning beaches and great walks.

Sublime
The Red House is as perfect as it gets. The owners have completely renovated it and it is a wonderful home. The oneness combined with the cosy cottage feeling is a perfect balance. The high quality and great design taste is wonderful. The thick walls make it feel so secure when those high winds blow off of the Atlantic. Add the history of the Red House and the island and you feel lucky to be here. The owners are very friendly and helpful. It is located a stones throw from town so you have both convenience and privacy. the views are lovely as well. Stay here. You will be happy you did.

Perfect cottage
We spent a fantastic week in the Red House. You really couldn't ask for more from a holiday cottage for two people. Really cosy cottage with every detail thought of. Amazing views and a real feeling of seclusion despite only being a 5 minute drive from Tarbert. Watching the seals was great fun. Thanks to Tracey and her husband as well for offering help and advice when we made an error on our return ferry booking!
