Had an amazing, relaxing time staying here on the Isle of Skye, myself and all the family enjoyed it, accommodation and beds were comfortable and had everything that was needed. Also plenty of garden space for the children to play in and safely. There was so much to see and do, ideal location with beautiful views!

Comfortable house. Gorgeous views. Great base to explore Skye.
Very comfortable traditional 2 bedroom house with everything you need, including wifi and two TVs. Lovely king size bed in the main bedroom, warm and cosy lounge. Fantastic views across the sea and large garden which was ideal for our dog. Waternish pernisula is gorgeous and the house is in a great location to travel around Skye. Very good value for money.

Charming cottage with wonderful views
Eilean Isay has great charm and we were very comfortable. The facilities were very good and we had a very enjoyable time staying. The view over the loch is really superb and I managed to capture this in a pencil sketch.

Fabulous place to stay
We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights in May and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable. The location is fantastic - remote enough to have a peaceful holiday but not isolated from amenities (there is a fabulous little shop less than 10 minutes drive away should you need groceries and Portree is 20 minutes away). The cottage has amazing ocean views and is close to the Stein Inn (meals and drinks). All in all, a great base to explore the incredible Isle of Skye. Thank you Marion!

Perfect getaway on Skye
This is a brilliant place to experience the Isle of Skye - sufficiently remote, with a cosy inn and an excellent restaurant within walking distance. Spectacular views, easy driving access to amenities like shops, and very well fitted. A marvellous place!

warm comfortable family accommodation
We stayed here in November last year and had a very comfortable stay. So much so that we have booked again for this year. A lovely location where the view , due to the weather, changes every few minutes.

Clean, enough space and calm
We, two couples, have rented the Eilean Isay Cottage for one week. We were very pleased with everything. There is enough space for two couples. The kitchen contains enough dishes and spices. It is a perfect place to detect the northern Isle of Skye. Marion really takes care of the house and the guests. Maybe it could have a little more wood reserve for heating. But the are plenty of electric stoves for heating. Thank you so much, Marion.

Relaxing week in Stein
Spent a week at the cottage in July 2016 the cottage itself has a great location looking into the bay, great wifi also to stay connected, and a great big garden for your dog, unfortunately weather was poor for the week the joys of Scotland, lovely well equipped cottage most things are dated however all essentials are there, great log burner in the living area nice and cosy at night, local shops for essentials located in Dunvegan about 6/7miles away. Ample parking and outside area if the weather is good for bbq's etc.

Lovely Traditional House - Amazing Views
Firstly, I would just like to say what a lovely lady Marion is to communicate with. Also a big thank you for excepting my Ragdoll cat, who thoroughly enjoyed his hunting experience!. I was attracted to this holiday let as it's a traditional croft house and much prefer the older properties on Skye. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The lounge was cosy especially with the fire lit in the evenings. The bedrooms were great although my husband is a bit too big for the bed as he is a 6'6" bodybuilder and we are use to a kingsize. The garden is beautiful and spacious, great to sit out in the evening watching the sunsets. The views are just perfect and my favourite, is looking down over Loch Bay. Oh and I had my first swim in the bay but of course wearing a wetsuit, rather invigorating. We visited the Stein Inn and the food was scrumptous, staff were friendly and welcoming. After 20+ years of visiting Skye and always staying in Waternish, I do have to say this is a wonderful property to consider. Thank you for the wine and wedding card. We had the most fabulous wedding at Dunvegan Castle, very romantic.

About the neighbourhood
Waternish is the central of the the most prominent peninsulas to project north west into the Minch. It is an extremely pretty area and very green. There are a series of scattered setlements here including Bay, Lusta, Stein, Hallin, Halistra and Trumpan. There are several places worth a visit whether it be historical or just local attractions, These include ;Fairy Bridge dating from the early 1800s and apparently named because it was believed to be the haunt of fairies and where the then Chief MacLeod was given the famous Fairy Flag; by his fairy wife (before she left him returning to her own people) to be waved only three times if the MacLeod Clan were in danger. The flag has been waved on two occasions and is now kept in Dunvegan Castle. Extremely pretty Thomas Telford village of Stein with its white painted stone buildings which was once a fishing port on Loch Bay Along with small harbour, it is home to the very popular Stein Inn and the Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant.. Skyeskins tannery is one of the areas main visitor attractions and further on, above the hill, you will see the remains of Dun Hallin, an ancient broch which was a look-out post in the days of the clan feuds. Amazing scenery is a photographes dream - with a panoramic seascape stretching from west to north, the view from Waternish over Loch Bay Islands to the archipelago of the Outer Hebrides is simply magnificent. Allegedly the most photographed sunset in EuropeIn Trumpan, you will find the remains of Trumpan Church where almost the entire Waternish population were massacred in the church in 1578 as a result of clan warfare between the MacLeods and the MacDonalds from the neighbouring island of Uist in the Outer Hebrides. There is an excellent picnic area here where you can enjoy superb views. Nearby you will find the path leading to the Waternish lighthouse for those of you who enjoy walking. Weather permitting, you will be able to enjoy a boat trip out to the islands off Loch Bay and hopefully spot the many seals and dolphins who frequent the loch. Basking sharks and whales have also been spotted here. In July you can enjoy the Sheepdog Trials where competitors come from around the island and further afield. Also during August, the Skye Highland Games are held in Portree when the town becomes alive with the sound of the bagpipesLeaving Waternish, it is only a short 15 minute drive to the village of Dunvegan where you will find the famous Dunvegan Castle, home to the MacLeod Clan - along with a visit to the Castle, there are also lovely gardens you can explore. From here, it is possible to drive along the banks of Loch Dunvegan and then a short distance by foot until you come to the beautiful Coral Sands beach.Portree, the capital of Skye is approx. 30 minutes by car and here you will find lots to do including the Aros Exhibition Centre with restaurant and gift shop, more shops, a busy harbour, a library with internet access and an excellent swimming pool located in the High School and open to the public and you can even go paint-balling nearby
