Holiday Rental House
A high quality, luxury self-catering barn in a peaceful location in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, yet within walking distance of the attractive village of Llangattock and the charming Georgian market town of Crickhowell. Located in the quiet hamlet of Ffawyddog, meaning 'beech grove', Merryfields Barn has a modern, cosy feel throughout. Completed in 2009, both bedrooms have oak beams and floors. There's a Japanese square bath and walk-in shower/wet room. Thick insulation and under-floor heating ensure you’ll never be cold and, in warm weather, two sets of oak French doors open onto patio areas; one has fabulous mountain views over an orchard and the other is completely private, with garden furniture and a barbecue. There's also a paddock with a small stream. There's a 9-hole golf course down the road, an excellent climbing centre and boating lake at Llangorse, extensive mountain biking and horse riding and numerous fantastic walking routes.More

About the neighbourhood
Merryfields Barn is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park and less than a mile from the beautiful town of Crickhowell. Pen-y-fan (the highest mountain in South Wales) is 15 miles away; Wales’ capital city Cardiff and Hereford are both 40 miles; Swansea and the beautiful Gower peninsula are 50 miles away and Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham are all within 65 miles. The nearest major airports are Cardiff, Bristol and Birmingham. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park region is a hidden gem which tourists in the know keep to themselves. There are canals, rivers, lakes and mountains all around and yet Cardiff, Wales' capital city, Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, Bristol, Bath and the beautiful Gower coast are only an hour or so away. For families, there's a nearby mountain railway, a ...
