The Ancient Dwelling is a beautiful, well equipped barn conversion set in idyllic countryside. We are close to a small town with a bakers, butchers, bar and a bistro. Also, about 500 metres from a lake where you can fish, swim or play on the man made beach with a children's play area. You have a private garden, barbecue and wood fired pizza oven plus a gorgeous, large, heated pool in a secure area next to the garden. For those who feel energetic, challenge your loved ones to a table tennis tournament on the outdoor ping pong table or practise your table football skills. This is a perfect space for those who lead a busy life and want a relaxing holiday with family and friends. the Dwelling is big enough to comfortably sleep ten people with the option of spending time apart when you fancy ...The Ancient Dwelling is a beautiful, well equipped barn conversion set in idyllic countryside. Included in the seasonal price, when available, is a tiny Erica Puck caravan. The most chic mini caravan in France with a comfortable double bed and only a few steps away from the facilities of the barn. NB If you want to use the Puck it is essential to request this when you make your booking. NB. Bedroom 4, with a double futon, is accessed via the master bedroom. NB. From August 2017 we have been asked to collect a local Visitors Tax of 0.30 euros per adult, per night (this does not apply to anyone under 18 years old). This should be paid to us during your stay. Further information can be provided on request.More

Thanks Sara. We did so enjoy seeing you and your family again and meeting your friends. I absolutely love hearing children playing in the pool and those four little chaps certainly made the most of it. Happy autumn and hopefully see you again.

Thanks so much for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed the little extras in the garden...and never fear...a new grill is already in place. We would be delighted to see you all again. Maybe 2020? I reckon barbecued ribs could be on the menu!

About the neighbourhood
We are perfectly placed for local attractions. Gorgeous beaches within 45minutes, check out Guidel, Larmour Plage and La Torche which is a favorite with surfers. Or, take a boat trip to the one of the beautiful islands off the magnificent Brittany coastline. If you like shopping, the medieval cities of Vannes and Quimper can both be reached within an hour. Great shopping and perfect places for a sunny lunch. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes for the brave and the faint hearted. The magical forest of Huelgoat is an easy drive and well worth a visit. Even closer are the Roches du Diables, a truly spectacular gorge used for international white water kayaking, a picnic lunch on the banks of the river is a must.
Getting around
A car really is required to stay in Langonnet as it is very rural. It’s a popular place for cycling and the roads and drivers are cyclist friendly. You can easily get trains to the rest of France from Lorient or Quimper. The trip to Paris from Carhaix takes about 4 hours. NB. There is an electric vehicle charging point in Langonnet but we are unable to charge vehicles at The Ancient Dwelling.
