About the neighbourhood
At 400 meters above sea level, our temperatures are rather constant as is the amount of sunlight per day, i.e. 12-hours light, and 12-hours dark. We usually have breezes that can sometimes become heavy winds, hence the nearby Wind Turbines generating electricity for the National Grid. Also nearby are the Thermal Electric Generators, using steam from deep beneath the Volcano to run turbines at the generating stations.
Nicaragua is only about 60-Km north and Lake Arenal is an hour to the east.
