Interaction with guests
The house has a team of staff; a house manager who lives in the next door village, who welcomes guests on arrival and gives guests a tour of the house, explaining how everything works (there is also a manual for reminders). She will book restaurants and recommend visits. There is a house keeper who will clean the house during your stay. She lives in the lane and is constantly on hand to help and to suggest outing etc. The swimming pool man visits weekly, the lawns are mowed weekly and the gardener works one day a week. All these people are local and are happy to help.

This was our second visit and we were delighted to find that the house is still beautifully maintained and the owners have stuck to their highest standards. A lovely place to stay in great comfort and in gloriously rural surroundings. Highly recommended.

About the neighbourhood
The Old Vicarage is a square, Georgian, pale brick Norfolk holiday house situated in very extensive grounds. It has a walled garden with large borders, a parterre, a small arboretum and paved terraces with garden furniture on three sides for the capture of sunshine at all times of the day. There is a hard tennis court and an outdoor swimming pool (heated 1st April to 30th October). This luxury holiday rental has a games room containing a table tennis table in a large room with a log burner. There are bicycles for use of the guests. There is much to see and do in this area of Norfolk. Great Hockham is in the centre of the Brecklands, an area of environmental importance. A perfect choice for an outdoor break, within 500m of the holiday house is Thetford Forest Park, 50,000 acres of woodlan...
Getting around
The best way to travel from Vicarage House to the sights of Norfolk and Suffolk is by car. We do have bicycles at the house to visit local pubs and investigate the forest which is 55,000 acres of public land.
