About the neighbourhood
The area has plenty to offer, including great local food and produce, restaurants, cafes, galleries, charming coastal towns and countryside villages.Due to its geographical location, the Borders has plenty of history to explore. From the border town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, where you can walk around the Elizabethan Walls, to the Border Abbeys and many castles, including Alnwick, of Harry Potter fame, our local area is steeped in history. Local historic houses include Paxton House and Manderston. The Borders are home to many events, two highlights locally being the Jim Clark rally and the Common Ridings. Held annually in May, the Jim Clark rally, the only UK mainland closed road rally, runs over three days. Jim Clark was raised on the neighbouring farm to ours, he is buried in Chirnside chur...
Getting around
Due to our rural location, the best way to explore the area is by car. There are some fantastic walking & cycling routes near by. Berwick-upon-Tweed is the nearest train Station (trains to Edinburgh/Newcastle) There is a bus stop in Chirnside village
