My husband and I and our 2 mutts spent a fortnight in Chalet no.2. The location is beautiful and very peaceful, yet only a very short drive from Lochinver for a well-stocked Spar shop and restaurants and fuel. And less than an hour to Ullapool...More

Lovely Chalet, comfortable with fantastic views. Electric blanklet appreciated in October. Amazing sunsets and awesome to hear stags roaring practically in the front garden. Amazing area if you love walks, wildlife, beaches and mountain scenery!

He accommodation consists of a kitchen/living area, 2 bedrooms: one double and one twin and a bathroom with a bath and shower.

The kitchen is bright and airy and fully-fitted with a cooker, large fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine/dryer, kettle and toaster. Cutlery, crockery, glasses, pots/pans and cleaning products are provided.

The living area is cosy with a spectacular unrestricted view of the sea and is comfortably furnished. It has 2 sofas, a dining table, TV with Freeview and DVD player and a CD player. There is also a book case with a good selection of books & some DVD's.

The bedrooms are furnished with fitted wardrobes, bedside tables, dressing tables, mirrors, lamps and hair-dryers.

Lochinver is the nearest village three miles away from the Kirkaig Chalets. It is a delightful fishing village on the rugged coastline of the Scottish Highlands and it settles amidst the spectacular scenery of Sutherland’s wild dramatic countryside, of high cliffs, waterfalls and hills.

The Assynt Hills are reported to be the oldest in Britain and contain some of the great mountains of the North such as Suilven, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt. Two hour drive or bus from Inverness airport or Inverness railway /bus station. Car hire is available from the airport or railway /bus station, with most national companies.

If driving, take the road to Ullapool from Inverness, then North to Lochinver from Ullapool. Kirkaig Chalets are located 3 miles outside Lochinver. Drive through the town and take a left at the lights before the bridge leading to the harbour and follow the single track road. The chalets are in the middle of the bay at Inverkirkaig (NB. If using in-car satellite navigation, please include 'via Lochinver' in the destination details or the system will indicate the very picturesque Achiltibuie B-road direction which is precarious in parts.)
