About the neighbourhood
Hengoed is a lovely small town on a hill. This area is named the South Wales Valleys. It is ideal for excursions to the Welsh capital Cardiff, to Newport and to the Brecon Beacon National Parc in the same short distance of 20 to 30 min. driving time by car. You have very close big superstores (Tesco + Lidl) and also the railway station is only 150 yards away. Every 20 min on day and every hour at night and on the weekend a train departs. You will find here a lot of nice pubs with excellent food, entertainment and more. Sights of value to visit here are the biggest castle of Wales in Caerphilly (5 miles away), Penalta Parc (2 miles away) and the Roman walls in Gelighaer (3 miles away). Families often enjoy a steam railway journey from Pant.
You have best conditions in public travelling by bus and train. The main roads from the cities Cardiff and Newport into the valleys are mostly four-lane. We have an free parking place for you in front of my garage.
