Interaction with guestsPlease look at my reviews!! We are usually around and about, living about 1 mile from this riverside property, so available in the event of any problems. Happy to suggest places to visit, eat, etc. But we will not interfere with your holiday unless you ask. Keys normally left inside the door when you arrive, with gates to property open for your car. We normally pop down to ensure all is OK with you.

Very welcoming and homely
We have just come home from an absolutely wonderful holiday at Rainbows End. Nothing was too much trouble for Hilda and Ivan, they truely care about the people who stay there...even the ones who bring a small zoo with them!! Just to wake up every morning and sit by the river with a cuppa surrounded by ducks, swans, geese and even 7 baby ducklings, it was still so peaceful. Although we didnt take advantage of the kayaks we did hire a boat for the day from Bucaneer boats, it is definitely worth it. We cannot wait to go back. Thankyou again Hida and Ivan we couldnt have wished for anything more.

Perfectly Placed
I could not have found a better location from which to explore The Broads. Located directly on the water, the cabin was very comfortable — a brilliant spot for watching the sunset over the water with a glass of wine, or for watching the birds first thing in the morning. And with the train station a brief stroll away, I could connect to most areas of The Broads. My hosts could not have been more hospitable. I look forward to visiting again.

Pot Of Gold at the end of the Rainbow
On the waters edge with an abundant sky line - gulls, cormorants, swans, grebe, egyptian geese, kingfishers - nature at its best - viewed from a lovely, cosy chalet - beautifully clean and well equipt. A short stroll to Strumpshaw Fen. Brundall Coffee Shop does great cakes and breakfast - very friendly. Casa Mia - excellent evening meal - great friendly service The Ram Pub - good burger and chips. Shoulder of Mutton not far away selling great ales and food. Peace and tranquility - away from crowds and yet close enough to shops and Norwich City / Great Yarmouth if you so choose......railway station close by but no noise. Rainbow's End - a place to unwind and re charge.

Peaceful riverside accommodation, lovely owner, relaxed atmosphere and excellent value for money.
Beautiful location right on the river front. Peaceful and very comfortable. All amenities close by. Good pubs. Supermarket and Post Office in the village. The accommodation is perfect for 2 with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. Hilda, the owner is lovely. On hand if needed and very helpful. We were able to take our own boat and moor right in front of the property and also made use of the kayaks provided. Great fun. We will definitely stay again.

WHAT a lovely break
With lockdown we had to swap our dates around at the last moment, Hilda was very helpful and we managed to grab a few glorious days, Rainbows End is a warm charming little place by the river , lovely Autumn sunset over the river while fishing was a lovely time to reflect. Its a warm place and cosy in the evening , everything you need is there, TV could do with replacing but otherwise its just right. Brynny the dog loved Gorleston Beach about 20mins drive , a lovely prom to stroll along and a sandy beach for ball games and JJ's Café on the front for a quick tea and cake. There is a little green where Brynn could have a wee within seconds of the accommodation. If you need a few days to relax I would highly recommend Rainbows End . For the fishermen out there , I found using a swimfeeder most productive Perch Roach Bream on worm for the bigger fish , maggots for the small , sadly I didn't catch the big Perch I was hoping for but maybe next time !

Thank you so much for this review! It's always good to know how much people enjoy their stay. OK... Television.... we have two sitting at home looking for relocation. . but concerned they are a bit too big... what did you think was the problem with existing one...size, lack of things like Netflix. ...or what? Would appreciate info. Nice that you put info on here about local area, too. Love JJs at Gorleston. Really hope to see you again. Keep safe (as they say these days!!!) Hilda

My husband and I stayed at rainbows end brundall on 12th September 2020, it was a lovely find ( the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ) every thing we needed was there, Rainbows end was warm, cosy and relaxing and we didn’t want to leave. My husband had a great week fishing from the garden. Can’t wait to go back to this little Gem.

Comfortable and homely.
Second visit to Rainbows End. Every bit as good as the first. Everything possible is provided, all you need are your personal towels. Some good fish caught but beware of the Pike swimming past ready to catch them before you. Weather turned really hot at the end of our 2nd week. Nice meals in the Yare pub which was Covid prepared. Was nice to see Hilda again and we are sure we will return!

About the neighbourhood
Norwich is a lively city with theatres, cinemas, extensive restaurants and numerous places of historical interest to visit. Brundall is a suburb of Norwich and is a fairly quiet village. However, within the village, and within walking distance of the holiday property, there is a good supermarket, chemist, fish and chip shop, Chinese food takeaway, boat chandlery etc. Day boat hire is available from several local boat hire businesses. There are two pubs, one within 400 yards of the property, offering good quality, reasonably priced food. There is a top quality restaurant in the village also. Check out www.lavenderhouse.co.uk. You might like to eat here for a special birthday or anniversary. For most visitors, the fishing from the front patio of the property is of prime importance. My boat is moored in the dyke, and although guests cannot use this boat, if I am present in Brundall during your stay I would be delighted to invite you for a trip along the river, maybe to site see, possibly to visit a riverside pub - your choice. I may have to ask you for permission to take my boat out of the dyke during your stay, but promise that this will not unduly interrupt your holiday.

How to get there
Find directions from the north or south of the UK to the A47, which ends at Great Yarmouth. Drive along the A47 following all signs for Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Continue along the A47 until the roundabout marked BRUNDALL. Turn right at this roundabout into Cucumber Lane. Continue along Cucumber Lane, bearing sharp left, where the road becomes The Street, Brundall. Continue along the Street, across one mini roundabout and over several speed humps. Look out for Gibson Bailey Estate Agency on the right hand side, just before the second mini roundabout. Turn right into Station Road. Drive down Station Road and cross the railway level crossing at the bottom of the hill. Keep The Yare Public House on your right. Proceed for about 350 yards and you will reach a security gate, which will be open. Rainbow's End is immediately after the security gate, on your right. Alternatively, use public transport and leave the train at Brundall. Walk past the Yare Public House and onwards the short walk to Rainbow's End.
