The hamlet of Talroch is very peaceful and is in a highly protected heritage area due to its beautiful stonework and its proximity to a 17th century chapel in the adjoining woods. You enter the hamlet over a bridge which crosses the river Sarre, the river winds its way around the hamlet and passes within 50 metres of the cottage, there are many walks alongside the river and in the woodland. It is only a 10 minute stroll to the village of Melrand with has a boulangerie, grocery, butchers, bars and a superb restaurant. Thanks a lot Terry and Anita, really pleased that you enjoyed your short time with us. A good point re torches but also a reminder that with no light pollution the night sky, star gazing, is amazing.

About the neighbourhood
Visitors love Brittany for the countryside, and Melrand is surrounded by dense woodland and a number of winding rivers. Canoes and mountain bikes can be hired locally, and for the nature lover days can be spent exploring the flora and fauna that the region has to offer. Melrand has local shops including a traditional boulangerie, a butcher, a grocer, a couple of bars and an excellent restaurant. all within a 10 minute stroll from Talroch Our tiny hamlet of Talroch is part of Melrand and is famous for its excellent stonework found in the houses the area is a protected heritage area, and a number of enjoyable walks also start and end in the hamlet.
