We thought we had found a little gem until we used the bathroom. The toilet brush was left filthy, the floor hadn’t been washed, greeen mould on the shower screen and the plugs in the sinks were dirty ! The tablecloth and runner were grubby. A tray with coffee set was left with coffee stains . Cobwebs and dust on shelves and ornaments. Downstairs toilet had stains on the door and a dirty sink. Parking is tight for 2 cars and onto a busy road. Neighbours park on grass in front of house. The Electric fire was faulty, the fridge froze the yogurts . The dishwasher is too small for 2 people, let alone 6 people.

This is a very well presented cottage, a real credit to the owner. It seemed to have everything you could need (once you find it 😂). It’s not a touristy location, but fascinating watching the estuary fill up and empty and it’s very photogenic for sunsets (and sunrises- a bit early in June though). We weren’t bothered by the road noise, but light sleepers might be. First night 2km walk to Rake and Riddle - without being exceptional, it was acceptable. Royal Oak, less than 100m, was questionable - bit tacky (not just the floor). Estuary Bar (0.5 km) - good tapas and good ice cream at GGs (partner establishment). Crofty (1km) had just been bought from the brewery by the owner - it was very much “work in progress” building and menu - a good start. BBQ in the garden also hit the spot, with good steaks from CKs. There were 2 butchers in the small town, should have used them. The real winner was Gower itself - stunning in the warm sunshine! Lots of good walking - Rhosili, Three Cliffs Bay, Oxwich - all good. I can’t help thinking it would not have been as enjoyable it more typical Welsh weather.

Spent two weeks here this summer and couldn’t have wanted more. Comfortable, all you could need for self catering and every effort made to keep It Covid safe. Excellent location for Swansea, Gower and West Wales and Paprika, Roma’s and GiGis in the village are all a must. We’ll be back!

What a view when you open the blind in the main bedroom every morning to see whether the tide was in or out in this constantly changing backdrop. And the view from the balcony at sun set was superb. The owner was thoughtful and considerate who had made a number of revisions for the Covid-19 pandemic. We made the most of the patio area for breakfast and dinner but when the weather wasn’t on our side we had plenty of room inside for family meals and board games that we had taken. This was our 1st visit to the Gower and we found the location ideal as you could access all areas and beaches within a 30 minute drive but also walk into Penclawwd and enjoy a fabulous GGs ice cream when in need of refreshment. A super cottage, right on the Loughor estuary that we would love to return to and have no hesitation in recommending.

A stylish comfortable and clean cottage . We enjoyed watching the changing scenery and wildlife from the main bedroom window. Some noise from the road next to the cottage but the cottage has modern double glazing so it did not disturb us. Penclawdd has a useful supermarket and post office. We recommend Cariad cafe . The craft and local produce cafe held in Penclawdd community hall was well worth a visit. We enjoyed exploring the area and hope to return

I recommend the cottage to some friends because I thought it would be a nice place for us all to stay during their first visit to wales. I have family living on the Gower Peninsula, and when visiting them I’ve often passed Lyndon Cottage and thought that it would be a lovely place to stay because of where it is situated right on the edge of the Loughor Estuary, and I wasn’t wrong. Not only is it a cosy place to stay but the ever changing view from the cottage is spectacular. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped, and staying there in October it was very warm and cosy. I would definitely like to stay there again in the summertime. If you want somewhere to stay that has a spectacular view, and an easy drive to many major tourist attraction in South Wales, such as Swansea, Mumbles and Rhossili then I would definitely recommend Lyndon Cottage.

We had a excellent holiday. Lyndon Cottage was delightful place to stay with everything one could need, a real home from home. The views across the estuary are amazing and it was delight to sit on the balcony at the end of the day and watching the sunset. Excellent location for exploring the Gower.

This cottage has been beautifully renovated and we found (4 adults 2child) it more than met our needs re washing ,cooking etc .However of the many houses I have rented over many years they all seem to ignore the most important element ;THE BEDS.The single beds are very low to the floor so if u have back problems be careful .The frames are cheap ikea with a lumpy mattress that does little to help. The other beds were equally disappointing .One of our party slept on an inflatable, the bed was so uncomfortable. All in all we have returned tired but not refreshed after many uncomfortable nights. This was a shame because apart from the beds this is the best cottage I have ever stayed in .Its position is excellent and is close to several wonderful beaches even the neighbours are very friendly and the sunsets are breath taking. As a family we would return if the beds were replaced

Thanks for the review, we're really pleased you had a good holiday and that Lyndon Cottage and the area gave you everything you needed, we were shocked about your bed comments, as these are expensive extra deep mattresses as we believe it’s vital our guest recharge whilst on holiday. So having stayed there myself since, I am happy that the beds are still to a high standard and mattresses are a personal preference, the height of the beds are to a normal bed height and we don’t advertise specialist beds which would have met you expectations. However we respect your opinion and thanks again for the review. Regards

About the neighbourhood
The Gower Peninsula is both beautiful and unspoilt, there are many historic features located over an area that measures just sixteen miles by seven miles wide. Notably, Gower was one of the first places designated 'An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' under the Act of 1949. The beautiful coastline and countryside of the Gower peninsula offers a number of designated pathways for both the casual stroller and experienced rambler. It is now possible to walk all the way around Gower via the coastal path. For those who like to take things easy, why not take a wander along the promenade of Swansea Bay, which runs all the way from Mumbles Head to Swansea Marina (approx. 5 miles). The area is also popular for outdoor pursuits and we'll send you a list of local things including: surfing, sailing...
