Historic Mansion with all modern updates and a fabulous location! 6 bedroom, 5 bath house built in 1882 in a folk Italianate style with 12 foot ceilings, 10 foot tall windows, original crystal chandeliers and hardwood floors with 6000 square feet of living space. In addition, the home has a 1000 square foot mahogany deck with multiple seating areas and a hot tub for 7. 5 miles from Churchill Downs and 1 mile to downtown. Located in the Cherokee Triangle; a national preservation district. Great location within walking distance of fine restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, galleries and the city's premier park--Cherokee Park (400 acre Olmstead designed park). Smoking is permitted only on the two porches (1rst and 2nd floor) and in the back yard. High speed wifi throughout house. Second floor 1000 square foot entertainment zone/family room. This room also has 70' flat screen TV (with DVD player and DVD library as well as dish service with over 100 channels and NetFlix). Guest amenities include fluffy bathrobes, individual soaps, shampoos, lotions, and locally roasted whole bean coffee. All beds are dressed in 400 thread count cotton sheets with two feather/down and two down alternative pillows per bed. Kitchen is equipped with a full assortment of cooking utensils, place settings for 12, glassware for 18. Sleeping Accommodations: Bedroom 1: Gorgeous 3rd floor master suite with open bath (walk in shower, jetted tub), 42' LCD TV, king bed, exposed brick, curved walls, over 900 square feet of luxury. Bedroom 2: 2nd floor large bedroom with private en suite bath and king bed Bedroom 3: Full sized bed and private porch (smoking permitted on porch) Bedroom 4: 1st floor large bedroom with private en suite bath, king bed and 46' LCD TV Bedroom 5: 1rst floor bedroom with king and private porch (smoking permitted on porch). Bathroom on hall. Bedroom 6: 2nd floor bedroom with full sized bed and bathroom on hall Den: With queen sofa sleeper could accommodate 2 more. Den has pocket doors for privacy. Living Room: Two Lane sleeper chairs that open into twin sized beds. 4.5 bathrooms Other rooms: Huge kitchen with table for 8, cool appliances including dishdrawers, steam table, speed oven, convection oven, high output gas cooktop, large separate freezer and refrigerator. Formal dining room furnished in mid century Brazilian modern with seating for 8. Open via 9 foot pocket doors to living room. Large formal living room, dining room and sun room with hardwood floors, antique crystal chandeliers and fireplaces. Beautiful sun filled conservatory with with table for six, antique bar and lush plants. 2nd floor work out room with treadmill, bike, some weights, satellite t.v. 2nd floor laundry room. Closest Great Restaurant: Jack Fry's located less than 1 block away. Other choices less than .25 miles away include: Starbucks, Taco Luchador, Molly Malone's, Wicks Pizza, O'shea's Traditional Irish Pub, La Chasse, Ward 426 and Ramsi's Cafe. Closest Great Casual Restaurant: Ramsi's Cafe on the World located less than 3 blocks away, this restaurant offers an eclectic menu influenced by cuisines around the world in a casual setting. Great outdoor patio seating or two indoor dining rooms. Full bar, affordable wine list and an occasional belly dancer. Nearest Attractions: Cave Hill National Arboretum and Cemetery, main entrance less than a block from the front door. Although within a short walk of a lively nightlife area, this home is on a quiet residential street- no disturbance of the peace of the neighbors will be tolerated. We do not ask for a damage deposit, but, just as with a hotel, photo ID matching the booking name and a valid credit card is required at check-in (in case of damage). This home is not suitable for children under the age of 10.

The house is gorgeous - and so well decorated! There is a staggering amount of space and the Highlands location really can't be beat. This is a lovely place to stay and a wonderful way to see the city.
