Perfect for a couple to get away from it all. Cosy and comfy with good amentities. surrounded by nature, beautiful loch, trees and wildlife. Lovely walks around the estate, with good views of all three bridges. Very close to the co-op in Kirkliston for emergency shopping, and only two miles from the water front at South Queensferry, which is a charming, scenic, little town, full of good eateries.

Wonderful experience at the boathouse - can’t wait to return! The facilities are a bit shabby in places but just adds to the charm! Very special property in a truly magical setting

What a location! You could not better it! The Boathouse is quaint and very well cared for. It is comfortable and everything you need is there, even down to fluffy dressing gowns! The Boathouse has a balcony over the water and swans and ducks swim across the loch to nibble any crumbs you choose to throw to them. Swallows nest under the boathouse and flit across the lake picking up insects, owls and other birds are always around. Tall trees surround the loch and the Boathouse is completely private, no other buildings or lights can be seen. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. South Queensbury is just over a mile away and has some lovely pubs, art shops and places to eat. Sit there and enjoy the magnificent views of the harbour and the Forth Bridge. If you get the chance, stay at this place and let it find it's special place in your heart as it has in ours.

what a lovely charming boathouse..... sitting on its own, on the water, in such a peaceful place. If you want to get away where is quiet but not in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles away from the city, go to boathouse. Beautiful veranda over the water, ducks, birds, swan.... just so peaceful and calm..... House is small itself, but plenty space, little kitchen with essentials, bathroom and room with a comfy bed. Cosy place for two away from the noise. take your own milk with you if you want a tea or coffee :D

You won't be able to find a more charming spot anywhere in Scotland. It's off by itself, as you can tell by the photos, and the walk around the castle grounds is lovely. The place needs some attention, with cracking paint around the windows and mold on the bathroom ceiling, and bird poop all around the outside of the balcony. But the electric fire is cozy, the bed comfortable, and the view of water and trees and nothing else is superb. No hairdryer, a definite demerit, and the milk promised in the advance email was not there (although the gin and whisky were). Perfect for two people who want to get away from it all. Definitely recommended, just be aware of the shortcomings (maybe they'll be fixed by the time you get there).

Beautiful Boathouse situated on the bank of the loch. Fantastic scenery. Perfect place to get away from it all. Needs a little TLC and cleaning of the Boathouse could have been better (needed dusting and oven not cleaned from previous quests). Leaking windows when it rained. Think this needs to be sorted but all in all it was a great getaway. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
