We had such a great time at Rick's cottage that we added another day! He was great and responsive - we only had to call to see if we could stay longer. The charming cottage was even better than the pictures and description. We had 5 of our 20 something aged kids coming and going during our trip and there was plenty of room. The house is like an oversized, old time, rustic, seaside cottage with beautiful architecture and everything you could need. There are multiple sitting areas in the great room for down time but you can all be together too. There is a large fireplace with plenty of firewood and tv with cable for watching movies, etc. The kitchen is fully equipped and had anything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and there are ACs in the bedrooms if needed but we were fine with the fans. The Wifi worked great too. You can see Perkins Cove and the Atlantic with waves hitting the rocks from the screened in porch. I started everyday with coffee sitting on the porch watching the sunrise. For our vacation we wanted to go to a beach but also wanted to be in the woods and close enough to home so our kids could come and go. We live about an hour away so I couldn't believe my luck when I found this house. It is on a secluded road up a hill in the woods right across the street from Perkins Cove. Pine trees surround the property and there is even a pond right behind the house! When the wind is blowing just right you can hear the waves and smell the ocean and when it goes the other way you smell the pine trees. We walked to Perkins Cove every day and had breakfast at the Cafe, lobster rolls and hot dogs at the Footbridge Lobster place, ice cream at Barnacle Billy's, lunch at Oarweed, Dinner and drinks outside at Jackie's Too. We walked/jogged the Marginal Way a few times and took a lighthouse cruise. This was all just from walking across the street! One night we walked to the Cove and took the trolley into Ogunquit so we didn't have to drive. But when we went to the beach it was a very short drive to Ogunquit Beach and we spent the day playing in the waves, walking the beach and people watching. My son got the most beautiful sunrise pictures at the beach too. The only other time we drove was to play mini golf up the road in Wells. It was the best vacation and we loved the house and location!
