This beautifully renovated, immaculate cottage at the mouth of the New Meadows River is only an hour north or Portland and just steps from the high tide mark. A kitchen, dining room/living room, sun porch, bedroom with twin beds, and bathroom complete the downstairs of the cottage. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with a full-size bed. A pack 'n play, high chair, and child safety gate are available for families with little ones, and the cottage has electric heat for guests in early spring or late fall.
Beds: 2 Double Beds, 2 Twin Beds, 1 Crib
The cottage was very comfortable but had limited amount of tap water usage. The beach access was not convenient for lounging and picnic area. My grand-kids spent many hours on the seaweek covered beach looking for crabs, shells and so forth. They had a great time going to the Popham Beach State Park for swimming and riding the waves. Not what I was expecting, but we enjoyed our time there.

Long-standing coastal traditions often call for guests to be a little more conservative with water usage than they might be at home. As indicated in the rental listing, shore “access is down a short right of way” where there is a small pebble beach. I was happy to see that Louise's 10 and 12-year-old grandsons “had a blast”, according to her note in the guestbook. The boys had quite a stash of goodies collected from that beach when I met them mid-week & hopefully they made some great memories!

"A Very Private Cove: Old Maine"
My wife and I along with our 36 yr old son stayed recently and had a wonderful time. The cottage was fully equipped, comfortable and meticulously clean. Water views and a very short walk to their waterfront. Another short walk or drive to Anna's Water's Edge Restaurant for fresh catch fish or lobster. Nearby golf, kayak rentals and a fabulous private Totman's beach and famous Popham state beach (free passes supplied). Hike?; how about Morse Mt and then to the beach below. You won't be disappointed.

Children and grandchildren can be spread out over several states, and getting the whole family together for a week in Maine during the summer just about guarantees a good time! Phippsburg enjoys a blend of little fishing villages, hiking trails, beautiful beaches, and several seasonal restaurants, all within a short drive. There's plenty to do for everyone, and a cozy cottage to come back to at the end of the day.

No view of coast
Wonderful, clean, homey small cottage. BE AWARE, however, it is not on the water (as represented), but sits behind a row of houses and any view of the water is blocked by high hedges and overgrowth, which is a shame. There is no deck and you have to walk down a right of way to sit at the water and enjoy your coffee or an afternoon glass of wine.

I work very hard to make sure that my cottage is well-kept, warm, and inviting. However, nowhere in my listing do I claim to have a deck, and although I thought my description explained that guests have to use a right of way to reach the ocean, unfortunately that wasn't clear to this guest. I have rewritten that section to make certain that even if it's read quickly, there isn't any confusion.

Family Time Fun
What a great place to have a vacation. The beaches were close and clean. Our viset to Bath was a great time had by all. There was lots to do and great weather. The lobster shacks right down the street was the best ever. The cottage itself was very nice. We all had a great time.

We are certainly blessed with beautiful beaches in Phippsburg. Our local Totman Cove is a real gem, so private and peaceful, and Popham Beach is at the other end of the spectrum with lots of waves and miles of sand to walk and explore.

Shells of vacation fun!
This is the perfect ideal house to stay in while away from your own home! The beds are wonderful to sleep in, sunroom relaxing to enjoy family and friends, kitchen very well ready to cook anything. The shells were the icing on the cake! We have some wonderful treasures to go with our summer photos. We are keeping this home rental bookmarked for the future! :)

The Emond family at Sebasco
A copy of the message send to the owner of the cottage
We are coming back from Sebasco and Popham Beach last Saturday. A beautiful week and a big storm when we drove from Freeport to Sebasco (like a storm of snow in Quebec City but with the rain).
Thanks for your cottage; that was rustic but confortable, like we love that. My children appreciated Internet, one of them, webmaster, worked each day; we call that "la vie moderne" (modern life!).
I keep the secret of Popham Beach for ourselves and our friends; when the Quebeckers go in Maine, they go to Old Orchard, Wells or big and crowded beaches like that. I will recommand your cottages to my friends.
Merci et à la prochaine.

Beautiful Solitude
When we entered the house there was a wonderful loaf of blueberry coffee cake waiting for us. The home itself was as advertised, beautiful hard wood throughout, very well lit and warm.
The hidden charm was the closeness to the ocean and the very nice neighbors that are around the house. We got eggs from farmer down the street. We had several meals at the restaurant down the street. The manager of the restaurant had a son that my son really hit it off with. I think that when we were not touring we felt really at home and on the last day when it rained we were more than content to just sit around the house and play games!
Kathy was a great hostess that gave us tips and suggestions as well as giving us some lobster buoys when we asked her where we could buy some. We have never stayed at a hotel/inn or B&B where we felt more comfortable!
Thanks so much.

About the neighbourhood
Just a mile away are an ocean side 18-hole golf course, waterfront spa, kayak rentals, sailing trips, deep sea fishing, bistro dining at the Pilot House, and casual outdoor dining at the Ledges Pub - all open to the public and located at Sebasco Harbor Resort. A brief walk will take you to Anna's Water's Edge Restaurant, and only two miles away is Totman Cove Preserve, a beautiful, undeveloped beach for residents and their guests. A short drive will take you to hiking on Morse Mountain, swimming at Popham Beach State Park, exploring at Fort Popham, and lunch or dinner at Spinney's. A state park pass in included in your stay.
Bath, with its many antique stores and the Chocolate Church Arts Center, is only a fifteen-minute drive. Easy day trips can be made to charming Camden or Boothbay Harbor , L. L. Bean and numerous outlets in Freeport, and the historic Old Port in Portland. Cultural attractions include the Portland Museum of Art in downtown Portland, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Farnsworth Museum up the coast in Rockland. At nearly Bowdoin College, the Maine State Music Theater offers professional summer theater at its best.
This is the perfect cottage if you plan to attend a wedding on the Phippsburg peninsula. It's close to Sebasco Harbor Resort, as well as other popular wedding locations such as Small Point or the Popham Chapel, yet is reasonably priced so that you can afford to stay for the entire week. If you're traveling all the way to Maine, why not make a vacation out of it?
The local area has much to offer, and whether you prefer to stay active or relax in the sun at the beach, you'll enjoy your stay in these bright, breezy surroundings.
PLEASE check my calendar. It's ALWAYS up to date. (There is a 3 or 4-night minimum stay in the spring and fall.)
