All are welcome at this classic, idyllic (circa 1900), impeccably clean cottage, on the eastern shore of Casco Bay, an hour travel NE of Portland, and from this front deck, you can throw a stone into the water, walk down the steps to swim, launch a kayak, enjoy whatever. You will gently wake up to the melodious sounds of ospreys, eagles, seagulls, and the lobsterboats starting their day. When you have your 'cup of coffee', you can go out on the deck to smell the salt air, feel the tranquility, and enjoy what Maine 'really is'. This is one of the few places on the Maine Coast where not much has changed in over a hundred years. You can buy freshly caught lobsters directly from fishemen, and, in the transaction, be able to appreciate the 'real Maine'. There is a picnic table for your use on the mowed grass shore, where you can fully enjoy the ambience of the 'Rocky Coast of Maine', while listening to the gentle 'lapping' of the waves. At low tide, there is finding beach glass, various marine life, and snorkeling. There are also fishing opportunities, from the shore, for those who like to catch mackerel, flounder, striped bass, and other fish. With parental supervision, this shorefront is an excellent learning opportunity for children.

Classic Harbor Cottage was a wonderful vacation. Five adults and two dogs were in the cottage. It is small but worked out fine. The porch over looking the water was perfect. The landlords are very nice people. Linda met us with a wonderful loaf of banana strawberry bread. Everything was very clean, and the cottage was well stocked with linens and paper goods. We would definitely go back. Just can't say enough good about this cottage, and the view was magnificent.

Great cottage to watch tidal changes and relax
Our family of five (plus our dog!) had a wonderful vacation at this cottage. We enjoyed that it was in a quiet location and we got to enjoy the rise of the tides each day and watching the boats in the water go by. The cottage had all the conveniences we needed (lobster pot & supplies - we ate a lot of lobster, sand toys, bag chairs for beach, fishing poles, linens, etc.). The bedrooms are small but just the right size for our kids. The neighbors were very nice too. My kids enjoyed searching the waterfront at low tide for sea glass and hermit crabs. It was amazing to see the difference between low and high tide here. The first night we walked just a few minutes to Anna's waterfront restaurant, which was very handy and tasty. Popham Beach is only about ten minutes away and one of the best beaches we've been to in the northeast. Very large and the tidal changes are so cool to experience there too. Totman Cove is even closer and smaller but our dog was allowed there and enjoyed the water. it was great that entrance passes were provided for both places. Bath is only 20 minutes away and a lovely little town. There are a couple great local places to buy lobster and seafood (at great prices) only a few minutes from the house. My husband and boys enjoyed a few hours fishing with Fish' N' Trips. Nice guide and they all caught (and released) a ton of fish. I recommend this cottage and location to get away, relax and experience "real maine". Linda was wonderful in accommodating our vacation dates and they really take pride in their special place on the water.

Phippsburg Maine cottage
I rented this cottage for my parents to stay in during my daughters wedding at Hermit Island. Because of the extreme weather the bridal party got ready there...what a wonderful backdrop for pre wedding pics. Can't wait to see them! The cottage was perfectly presented, clean, well stocked beyond the necessary! Linda and Peter thought of everything, absolutely everything!! I'm sure my husband and I will make a trip back to relax and enjoy this cottage in good weather! We got the website from Sabasco Estates for the vacation rental listings. So thankful for that tip. Thank you again to Linda and Peter for sharing this beautiful piece of Heaven! Deb Poirier

Picture-perfect location
Wake up every morning with a view of a Maine postcard just off your porch! Just a perfect, unspoiled location, that probably hasn't changed much in the past 100 years.
Cottage is neat and clean with a modern and relatively spacious kitchen.
Bedrooms are admitedly small, including the "master" which has just a full (i.e. double) with a basic mattress; but this is a cottage, not the Ritz. Also note just one small bathroom downstairs - you'll need to ration shower-time if you've got a full-house.
Bring your kayak/canoe/whatever if you want to explore the island just across the channel.
