About the neighbourhood
Hardings Beach Hills is only a five minute walk down safe sidewalks and side streets to the world famous Hardings Beach; one of the largest all-around family beach on Cape Cod. It faces south on Nantucket Sound, which is characterized by its calm, warm waters. In the neighborhood private access to Bucks Creek leads to Nantucket Sound for kayaking and other water sports Within 3 miles of the house is the town of Chatham, where in this quaint downtown area you can find shopping, movie theatres, and restaurants. There are activities for everyone; including fishing, golf, and boating. Band concerts are held every Friday night in the summer. There are numerous art galleries, antique shops and craft festivals throughout the season. The Cape Cod Baseball League celebrates its 131th season in 2015 and the Chatham Anglers continues to provide fans with free competitive baseball entertainment. The Cape League is recognized as the best amateur summer leagues in the country by college coaches and professional baseball scouts. The Monomoy National Refuge and the Cape Cod National Seashore is full of wonderful nature trails for hiking and exploring nature and is only about 10 minutes by car. The Cape Cod Rail Trail (CCRT) is a paved bikeway that runs 25 miles from South Dennis to Wellfleet and a spur connects into Chatham. The terrain is relatively flat with some minor grades in certain sections in the Lower / Outer Cape areas, specifically Orleans and Wellfleet. It easily offers the greatest variety in scenery and natural landscapes of all the regional bike paths. Access to the CCRT is only 1.5 miles from our home. Warm summer days with cool summer nights, and beautiful warm Indian summers, makes Chatham a comfortable place in which to vacation. No wonder so many people are discovering what Patty Page sung in 1957: ' You are going to fall in love with Old Cape Cod' .
Getting around

Conventient Bus Service via Plymouth and Brockton connects to the RTA. There is also limited Weekend train service is available from Boston South Station.
