Gast House was the perfect home base for our friends weekend in Bridgman! It's a couple minutes' drive into town, and there's a grocery store right down the street. Not far from the beach, either, although we didn't go on this trip because December. Inside is tastefully decorated and cozy. The kitchen is appointed with the basics like cups, plates, and utensils (but if you're preparing a meal I would pack some cooking implements and staples like oil, sugar, etc). You have to go through the loft room upstairs to get to the other two rooms, which we were comfortable with but I can see being awkward for some. Stairs going up are typical for an old house - steep, narrow, and a little creaky. Would probably avoid putting Grandma up there but we managed fine. All in all we had a lovely stay and will definitely be back next time we're visiting our friend!

We wanted to visit Lake Michigan and this charming little place made that possible! Great proximity to several nice beaches. Plenty of sleeping space, great kitchen and a huge yard with a fire pit and a swing. One more bathroom would have been nice (upstairs) so my kids didn't have to go down those steep stairs at night, but we made it work. Host (Margaret) was amazing! Responsive and kind! Would stay again!

Adorable home on a beautiful wooded lot that was about a 5 min drive to Weko Beach. Lots of room to spread out (3 kids, ages 5-10) and home was well-stocked (paper products, cleaning items, etc). Communication with Margaret was incredibly easy at every single turn and we really appreciated the local guide she left for us indicating good restaurants and activities as well as additional beach items (coolers, boogie board, chairs, etc). Loved having a washer/dryer available to stay caught up on beach laundry but tall folks beware of the short ceilings and steep steps (which is completely expected for this type of home). We found it easy to feel at home in this lovely house.

We enjoyed our stay in the house. Unfortunately the beach was closed for 2 days for a festival but enjoyed surrounding beaches and St. Joseph. For the house, you will need to warn guests that the bathtub is a challenge to step out of being a claw foot tub and very difficult stairs to upstairs and basement. But thats pretty typical for these MI homes. Some things to bring with you before you come would be salt and pepper shakers, Kleenex and ground coffee (not a k-cup machine). The house was very clean and tidy. However, the bath towels must have been folded while still wet because they smelled like mildew. Had to rewash them all before use. Overall, we had a great time and appreciate the nice accommodations.
